Martin Luther King

There is a man, a man who had a dream, and his name was Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King was born on January 1, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. (biography.com) He graduated in the year of 1951. Martin Luther King got arrested in 1963, he was awarded a freedom award, in 1977. Sadly, he wasn’t there to collect his award, because he was assassinated in 1968. He was inspiring to many people. Martin Luther King’s quotes are another thing that inspired his people. “ Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” Martin Luther King, an American Baptist minister, fought for justice and freedom.

That was when Martin Luther King gave his “I Have A Dream” speech. The city embraced for balance. The people had to walk from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial. The people got freedom because of Martin Luther King. In June of 1963, people were hosing people down with fire hoses, in Salem, Alabama.

Martin Luther King died in Memphis, Tennessee. He was assassinated by James Earl Ray. The exact place where Martin Luther King died was in Lorraine motel in Memphis, Tennessee. James Earl Ray was a murderer who was born on March 10, 1928. He shot and killed Martin Luther King on April 4, 1968. James Earl Ray died, in prison, on April 23, 1998.(biography.com) He admitted that he killed Martin Luther King, so he went to jail and died a few years later.

Martin Luther King was an inspiration to many of us. He was inspiring by his quotes, speeches, and sayings. Martin Luther King has a very inspiring quote, for kids, that says,”Intelligence plus character-that is the true goal of education.” (goodread.com) He is basically saying that without school, kids and people would be dumb and not intelligent.
