1.0 Executive Summary

VJP Trading Corp is starting to consider a new line of business and they have to key products to import, Incense sticks from India. VJP is trying to get the exclusive distribution for the product in USA, and their first start will be in Florida, because it is the home place for business. VJP has an excellent relationship with the distributors and wholesalers in Miami Dade and Broward, in Florida. VJP has the knowledge of the wholesale channel and want to develop with new products for the final customer.
The final customer needs quality not too many ashes, burning time to at least 40 minutes per stick, availability at the store and good price to maintain their buying habit. Soft aromas in the other hand Wholesalers and Retailers need availability of the product with good quality with excellent price to be offered to their customers.
The Keys to succeed are mainly the price, availability of the product, and to obtained that the final customer recognize the product as a high Quality brand, also the retailer and Wholesalers need to believe in the product.
The main thing of the marketing strategy for VJP Trading corp is to focus in two aspects. First the quality of the product “green incense” has a high standard in quality and this is very important for the final customers and the strategy should be concentrated in developed this characteristic of the product. But on the second hand, the price for Retailers and wholesalers is more important than the quality so we should center the efforts in this point giving them support with POS materials, samples and promotion without cost for them, help to the final customers to decide what and where to buy the product.

Basically, the marketing of product is particularly focused on 4P’s in marketing mix namely product, price, place, and promotion (Ehmke & Fulton & Lusk, n.d.). The marketer needs to analyze the major demand of customers in a specific market in order to find out a product that can respond the market demand. Firstly, it is necessary for marketers to focus on the strength as well as eliminate the vulnerabilities of marketed products in order to improve products to meet customer’s demand as much as possible.     garbattis,’ also known as ‘incense sticks,’ are made from aromatic plants and essential oils extracted from plants or animal sources. When lightened, these release a fragrant smoke which finds use in the religious activities, prayers, and therapeutic and aesthetic purposes. Agarbattis have been used since times immemorial as an integral part of Hindu deity worship in India. There are about 10,000 agarbatti manufacturing units in the country including tiny, small and medium, besides another 200 well-established ones having over 50 branded agarbattis. Nearly 12 lakh people are directly or indirectly employed by the industry. India is exporting a wide range of agarbattis or incense sticks that have natural, exotic fragrances extracted from jasmine, sandalwood (chandan) and rose. These fragrances spread the ambience and tranquility. The incense sticks are packaged attractively. The agarbatti industry depends heavily on forest products for raw materials—a natural advantage since nature has bestowed upon it vast expense of forests. Capexcil (formerly known as Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics Export Promotion Council), functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce and industry, government of India, over the years has been playing an important role in promoting exports of agarbattis from the country.
