Even though his choice was unique, Kondo made a very smart decision as by his senior year, Nintendo sent a letter to the university asking for students to hire. In 1984 Kondo’s career took off when he was hired by Nintendo to compose music and sound program without the need of any demo tapes. The avid arcade gamer became the first employee to be hired to only compose music for the company; Kondo was coming off the fresh success of Nintendo after the crash of Atari Inc,. Kondo started by working on small, yet difficult projects like Golf and Punch-Out, since he had so little experience in sound design. Literally a year after Kondo joined the team he was given two major assignments: Super Mario in 1985 and The Legend of Zelda in 1986. He did not know at the time that those two…

Nintendo Co. Ltd. is a longstanding member of the home entertainment software industry that has embarked on a mission to offer the highest quality products and services while treating their customers with attention, consideration and respect. Nintendo’s strategy thus far has been to take advantage of their video game development capabilities; nearly 60% of games sold by Nintendo are self developed. The innovative capabilities derived from various gaming platforms have allowed Nintendo to capitalize off of a series of attachment control devices. The biggest strength that Nintendo has is a strong brand name along with high returns. A well established brand name gives Nintendo an edge over its competitors. Nintendo is the only company that has managed to capitalize on both hardware and software components. The biggest opportunity for Nintendo is to incorporate themselves into the online gaming market due to short product life cycles. Nintendo maintains their competitive advantage through superior game and character development, for which it often owns the legal rights. In a technical comparison of the Wii against its major competitors, it is substantially outperformed in speed processing, memory, storage, networking, video output and multimedia output. If Nintendo wishes to maintain a competitive advantage, the niche market must be penetrated while maintaining the integrity of the Nintendo brand image. Nintendo Black would become a subsidiary company of Nintendo Co. Ltd. that will operate with a mission to specialize in advanced technological specifications to consoles that will compete with Microsoft and Sony. If the proper measures are taken then Nintendo has the opportunity to continue to position itself as an alternative to the gaming experience while increasing the level of competition for its rival companies with its subsidiary company.…

In the console-gaming world people know Sony and Nintendo. Microsoft may be the largest and richest software company in the world, but it’s unknown when it comes to console gaming. Microsoft is counting on the Xbox to change that perception. Gamers may not be willing to take a chance with the Microsoft Xbox, even if it is far superior to any console ever made. Nintendo Gamecube is nothing if charismatic. Nintendo’s new machine is half the size of any other console and looks like a toy with its brightly colored plastic shell and handle. It’s destined to be home of such popular games as Mario, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, and Kirby. Nintendo Gamecube seems mismatched as it goes up against the Microsoft Xbox and the Sony Playstation 2 (a multimedia mayhem that Sony says it’s supposed to be “The Future Of Entertainment”). All this makes you think; what makes Nintendo believe it can possibly go up against the ultra-sophisticated Xbox.…

    Ethics on Nitendo

Nintendo has the opportunity to plan, organize, lead and control the way their games will be made on a yearly basis. When planning the types of software and accessories for the games each plan must be ran by the production company and the President of the Company to make sure that the right age group, ethics code and the graphics are made properly. Organization of the games and game system takes some time to get placed into the stores who all sell Nintendo products. Ethics comes a long way between the outside stores and the in line stores such over seas like Japan or China who has a piece of the stock from the company. Ethics at Nintendo means that any employees who copy’s software products and sell the games or system he or she will become warned. After their first warning attempt there will be a second warning, and then a final written warning and then termination from the company. Ethics states that anyone who is doing good or bad, right or wrong needs more training on how to cooperate with others and the management team. Being able to work well with others and the customer’s is a must when in retail. Ethics is hard to come by in all business including Nintendo. The President and his Managers must come up with how their managers should lead teams and how they should control each situation. At Nintendo have different store levels, management levels. When defining Ethics we would have to define ethics with leading those are underneath managers should teach how to behave at a company when working in a business. As the managers take control he or she must understand that each employee has a different level of training when training with the code of ethics with Nintendo. However, being managers takes time and pride with the company to keep his or her team players in line. We believe Nintendo so far has a good way of handling Ethics when it comes to planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Nintendo must implement new rules and regulations on how ethics is…

A classic for the ages! Super Smash Bros. is one of the most celebrated fighting and video game series ever released by Nintendo and created by the legendary Masahiro Sakurai. Every rumor, trailer, and announcement for the game is gossiped about in the gaming community. The games are very simple for fighting games, made of King of the Hill style gameplay where building up percent of the enemy character causes their launch rate to increase. The characters get launched far or short depending on their weights, the opponent’s strength, and the move used. The complex nature of how match ups can go about makes every Smash Bros. very interesting. For example, a projectile character may do good against a fast, weak character, but won’t stop a heavy…
