Jeannette was cooking her own hotdogs at the age of three. While cooking hotdogs for herself, her pink dress catches on fire and is hospitalized for six weeks. Jeannette only being three years old at the time of the accident does not let it rule her life. After being smuggled out of the hospital by her father, she returns to playing with fire. Jeannette was taught to take care of herself at a very young age. She was taught how to cook for herself and to shoot a gun by herself at a very young age. Her parents believed that if you don’t beck-and-call on their child’s every whine or cry, it will teach them to grow up to be tough. Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is real illness that can be treated with medicine and therapy. When have OCD, you have recurring, upsetting thoughts (called obsessions). You repeat doing the same thing, over and over again (called compulsions) to make the thoughts go away. And, you feel like you cannot control or stop these thoughts or actions. The obsessions, or upsetting thoughts, can include things like a fear of germs, a fear of begin hurt, a fear of hurting others, and disturbing religious or sexual thoughts. The compulsions, or actions you repeat to make the thoughts go away, can be things like counting, cleanings hand washing, and checking on things. While these actions provide only short-lived relief, not doing them only increases anxiety.…

The financial crisis of 2007-2009 was the most severe the United States experienced since 1930s. In chapter two of Manias, Panics and Crashes - A History of Financial Crises, Kindleberger and Aliber presented an economic model of a general financial crisis developed by Hyman Minsky.
