Longaberger Research Paper
The Longaberger Company (aka Longaberger Homestead) weaves high-quality baskets from its location in Frazeyburg, Ohio. What began as a hobby for the father, J.W. became a passionate enterprise for the son, Dave. As the elder Longaberger wove baskets, the younger Longaberger sold them to local markets in Ohio. Later, Dave employed consultants to sell the handcrafted baskets through home shows. Once people learned the history and saw the fine artisanship each basket contained, they became a must-have staple for every home.
The enthusiasm continues. As the business expanded, the company relocated from Dresden, Ohio to Frazeyburg. Later the company changed the name from J.W.’s Hand-woven Baskets to the Longaberger Homestead. Before passing away, Dave designed a new

Longaberger Homestead baskets are made of handcrafted maple wood, which creates a beautiful effect when woven together with other pieces.
The baskets are extremely strong and durable.
A double layer interlock at the bottom of the Longaberger baskets provides additional reinforcement.
How Do You Clean A Longaberger Basket?
You must use extreme care when cleaning a Longaberger basket. First, remove dust and dirt with a toothbrush or soft-fiber brush. Then do the following to keep it looking new.
Remove dirt from creases and openings with a cotton swab.
Apply mild liquid soap to a warm, wet cloth and gently rub the basket. Stubborn stains may require you to go against the grain, using slight pressure. After removing the stain, use a soft cloth to wipe away the loose particles. Using a damp cloth, wipe the basket again in the direction of the grain.
Then, let the basket air dry.
The Longaberger Company also makes totes, purses, and bags. They are available in a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. Inspired by Dave’s daughter, Tami, who owned the company until recently, the Homestead collection includes nature and holiday prints. Check out some of the styles
