Assignment 1
Student Name: Cheung Tak Lai

It cannot be denied that Business Management are very important with running a company, such as controlling, leading, monitoring, organizing and planning. To achieve good Business Management, we must have four good management skills approach including Conceptual Skills, Technical Skills, Interpersonal Skills and Political Skills. Let us try to discuss this topics as below.

Conceptual Skills
The Conceptual Skills which is the ability to think creatively about, analyze and understand varying degrees of complexity in specific situations, and reduce the complexity level by acting promptly and efficiently. An example would be the recognition and understanding of competitor changes in marketing strategy, and the counter strategy that needs to be designed and implemented.

With using a well developed conceptual skill set, top level business managers need to be able to look at their company as a holistic entity, to see the interrelationships between its divisions, and to understand how the firm fits into and affects its overall environment. Other aspects of conceptual skills include visualization of the relationship of the organization to the industry, community, and political and economic scene. It also involves thinking in terms of relative emphasis and priorities of conflicting objectives.

For example, Bill Gates founded Microsoft, based on their vision of using a new technology to change the way business was done and to benefit and transform society. From his motto: “I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job… because, he will find an easy way to do it.” It is proved that his concept is different from other general managerial person. For instance, he has been innovated window’s platform. This operating system has thoroughly changed the whole world instead of using DOS. Thus it can be seen, his conceptual skills were entirely applied in business
