Male Ciircumcision
I must agree that male circumcision has become somewhat of a more cultural practice than in the past, however I do feel it has medical benefits. Specific benefits from male circumcision were identified for the prevention of urinary tract infections, acquisition of HIV, transmission of some sexually transmitted infections, and penile cancer. There is also compelling evidence that male circumcision reduces the risk of heterosexually acquired HIV infection in men by approximately 60%. Male circumcisions also help reduce the risk of cervical cancer, genital ulceration, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and HPV in females. Infants who do undergo circumcision procedures are given analgesia (painkillers). This is to help lessen the pain of the procedure.
Circumcision also doesn 't show much effect on the sexual aspect of it. Several studies conducted among men after adult circumcision suggest that few men report their sexual functioning is worse after circumcision; most report either improvement or no change. Overall if I was to have a child and it was a boy I would get him circumcision. The benefits of a circumcision out way the risk, also there is no real proof that it reduces any sexual gratification. On top of all the benefits of the circumcision, most men I talk to who are circumcised have no memory or pain regarding the procedure.
