Major Role In The IEP Planning Process
Children with disabilities are protected they have many rights in the school. They have the right to an education administered to their needs and their learning style. They also have the “right to participate in the least restrictive environment, learning alongside peers without disabilities, as much as possible”. The parent who is a significant member of the IEP team will help to decide it is appropriate for the child to have the same consequences as other children in the school/classroom. They have the same rights to legal protections as every other child and classmate.
As a parent, I am entitled to play a major role in the IEP planning process. It is both a scary and exciting journey. It allows me a voice in which I may have a meaningful
