Luis Garavito
“La Bestia”
The World’s Worst Serial Killer

Luis Garavito, who I will describe as a human animal on my research is the worst serial killer in the world. His full name is Luis Alfredo Garavito, born on January 25, 1957 Colombia, this animal serial killer was convicted of the horrible killing 189 boys in the 1990s. He is also known as “la bestia” the beast, this animal mainly focused on very poor neighborhoods and looks for kids at the age of six to sixteen. He choose poor kids because he knew they will never be reported as missing because they will never pay no attention if they were missed or just runaways to their own families.
How this animal grew up is, believed that he had some childhood issue that have led him to commit this horrible crimes. He was the oldest of all seven brothers and was constantly abused by his dad resulting major physical, mental and sexual abuse. He attended school only for a couple of years and started the path to a very difficult childhood, as they went through constant abuse by his father and neighbors. At age 16 he started working as a store clerk then in the streets sailing religious items and paying cards. Then as an adult Garavito went from job to job, with a heavy drinking problem as well making him more aggressive and moving from town to town. He even attempted one time to kill himself from that he was receiving psychology care for at least 5 years according to the police records giving. It is also know that he is the most serial killer with one of the highest proven numbers of victims.
On beginning of 1998, 2 naked corpses of young children were found beside one on other on a small town outside Colombia. The following day after the recovery of those two kids another body was found this one in a really bad decomposition state. There was a lot of blood stains that could be detected around the crime scene area, also a knife. They had their neck and their external genitals

My estimated time of death for the first body is approximately 4-5 days before discovery. Not only is the body in the advanced stage of decomposition, but the fly pupae in the 3rd instar wandering stage indicate that the victim died about a week prior (A). This killer has access to decent power tools, concluded by the cleanliness of the cut of the foot. The polished look and lack of visible striations are characteristics of a circular power saw (C). Although it may seem like the killer also dismembered the left arm (who knows, maybe their trying out a new calling card), however, since the scapula is still attached, the arm was most likely removed by carnivores (B). The second body seems to be a little “fresher” than the first. Since the corpse is still has a bloated, green abdomen, and has maggot activity in the eye sockets, I am lead to believe that it is in the early stage of decomposition, with the PMI to be about 2-4 days (D, E). Like the first body, this victim also shows evidence of carnivore activity, seen in the exposure of the facial skeleton and furrows on the maxillae (E). This victim was also of African descent per both rectangular orbits and alveolar prognathism…

Richard Ramirez was a California-based serial killer who operated from 1984 to 1985. He was born in El Paso, Texas, but eventually moved out to California. He was known as the “Night Stalker” because he would break into homes at night, raping and killing his victims. Ramirez got his start early, as he (unsurprisingly) had a rough childhood. His father was known to abuse him, and he spent some time in juvenile detention for petty crimes. He also sustained two major head injuries as a child, having a dresser fall on him and being knocked out by a swing at a park. However, he was heavily influenced by his cousin Mike, who was a Green Beret who had returned from the war in Vietnam. Mike told Richard graphic stories about the women he raped, tortured, and…

Killing animals, like neighbors cats, was a recurring happening. By the time Kuklinski was a ‘Young man’ (anywhere between 14 and 18) he had committed his first murder. It was a neighborhood bully, who had been picking on Kuklinski for some time. Kuklinski ended up beating the boy to death with a metal bar that was used to hang coats on. During an interview he had this to say about his motive, “When I was a young man I found out that if you hurt somebody they’ll leave you alone. Good guys do finish last. When I tried to leave everybody alone and do my own thing, everybody just wanted to hurt me. Until one day i just decided “Well I’ve had enough of this picking.”’ After that, Kuklinski proceed to fight back with the metal bar. Eventually Kuklinski ended up, without intention, killing the boy. Kuklinski, feeling scared and worried about what he had done, did not kill again for sometime. The next time Kuklinski would would be in a bar fight when he was 18. Kuklinski described the scene, “We got into an argument, a fight. I hit him with a questick… a few too many times, and he died.” After, an interviewer asked Kuklinski how he felt after he had heard the man had died. Kuklinski responded “I felt very bad, very, very bad. I was upset. I didn’t mean to do it actually. But surprisingly I felt sadness, and after awhile I felt something else, I didn’t feel sad. I was sad along with some sort of…

To become a serial killer by definition you would have had to kill two or more people over a period of time from hours to years. There are even different kinds, there are the ones that do it for profit, for political reasons, and even the occasional professionals that do it for a “family”. Most serial killers have a compulsion or sexual need that drives them to kill, and John Wayne Gacy was no exception. His killing spree lasted for years and his addiction to torturing, raping, and eventually killing them lead him to hiding their bodies beneath the floorboards of his home. Although the end result was his death by lethal injection in 1994, what can be noted before in his life that could have been seen as early warning signs? In the study of…

One of the main points investigators have hoped to understand is how some of the perpetrators of these serial killings have integrated so well with the neighboring communities. In contrast with these “smart killers” there are those serial killers who are socially inept, who find it difficult to make friends or to communicate due to their low intelligence rate.…

People become serial killers for a reason. The expression “Serial Killers” first presumably originated in 1970 by late FBI Agent Robert Ressler. Before this time society categorized them with Mass Murders. Agent Ressler was lecturing at a college when he heard someone describe the killing as having an unending ‘serial’ cycle. Going back to his childhood, he remembered the movie industry titled “Serial Adventures” which showed short films of Batman and other heroes. None of the shows that were played came to a gratifying close. It always left you wanting more. Ressler came to the conclusion that there should be two separate category’s for mass murders, a single killing of many people at one location, and serial homicide, multiple killings that…

Surely there must be something wrong with someone who is extremely violent, or hurts individuals in ways our society will not allow. There are few things more repellent to 'human nature' and morality than the concept of a serial killer. What is different about the brains of these individuals whom our society finds unforgivable and unredeemable predators? Society might find a biological reason for such atrocities more comfortable than the prospects of 'good and evil' or a mistake. This paper will catalogue and attempt to organize the current biological differences between our minds and that of a serial killer.…
