I take immense pleasure in recommending Mr. Shashank Ankala for admission into masters program in your esteemed university. He has done the project “Clay Assisted Dispersion of Carbon Nanotubes in Conductive Epoxy Nano composites” at International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) under my guidance in his final year of under graduation. As a project guide, I take this opportunity to evaluate his knowledge. The main concept of this project is to evaluate the behavior of Nano clay in terms of hardness, tensile and etc. with the different w/v% of epoxy Nano composites, Shashank has led a team of 5 members and obtained Best results within a short span of time.

His intelligence along with dedication to work is worth mentioning here. His curiosity to learn concepts and explore new areas of knowledge places him well ahead of the other students. His confidence, talent, maturity, interest and keeping abreast the current developments in the field makes him a promising research student. He possesses aptitude to acquaint current knowledge the latest technological developments and has flair for postgraduate studies.
He has excellent command over the English language and a very positive attitude, which keep him different from the rest. His ability to assimilate the fundamentals and apply them to solve practical problems underscores his perceptiveness, which is clear from his project.
Thus I hereby strongly recommend Shashank for admission to the MS program in your university. I wish him good luck and success in his future endeavors.

    Engineer Interview Report

    • 1022 Words
    • 5 Pages

At the beginning of the interview, I asked him about his background and his education. He came from Hong Kong when he was 15 years old. In 1998, he received his bachelor degree at University of California in Berkeley. He told me that he had an internship with Sun Microsystems before he graduated. He also told me that he learned a lot of things from there. After that, I asked him what the most important thing was that he learned in the university. First, he pointed out that the circuit design concept and programming language are the most important things since his job applied these knowledge a lot. As an applications engineer, he always helps customers to test their products and reports the customers about their testing results. When he examines an electric product, he needs to fully understand the circuit structure of the product. If he doesn¡¯t have circuit design concept, it is impossible to understand the circuit structure and the function of the product. He also need to design and write an interface program (a program for a computer to control a specific electronic hardware) when he exam a product. To write an interface program, he needs to use a lot of programming knowledge which he learned in school. Second, he told me that the communication skill is also another important issue we need to learn in the university. Besides writing program and solving circuit problem, he needs to communicate with his boss and persuade his customers. He needs to write memos and reports every week. In order to explain the situation and…
