The role of hospital have evolved over time from treating. Hospital are faced with the challenge of meeting the demands of patients while providing patients with quality of care. The primary role of hospital are to treat patient with acute medical conditions. Vertical and horizontal integration are key factors in the success of hospitals today. To accommodate patients, hospital have broadened their scope of services for inpatients and outpatients. Despite hospital being at the forefront of healthcare innovation they are heavily constrained financially because most of the funding comes from Medicare (Williams & Torrens, 2008). Long-term facility designed to treat and rehabilitate patient to achieve independence. Patient receive customized medical and physical care within long term care facility which changes overtime based on the patient's needs. …show more content…
