Lion King
The Lion King The Lion King is a movie about growing up, overcoming life's obstacles and learning how to take charge of your responsibilities. When I was younger watching this movie I saw it as a cute movie about a lion and his family. Now, when I watch this movie as an adult I know it has a deeper meaning. It is a movie that not only displays the hardships of maturation, and the perplexities associated with growing but it is also a movie that deals with the search for one’s identity and responsibility. In addition to being a tale about personal growth The Lion King dramatizes the circle of life. When Simba was born, the family was eager to welcome him into the world. His parents had high hopes for him as with any family, he would be king one day. As many young people, Simba was easily persuaded and convinced to do things. His parents had told him never cross over to the dark side, the place where bad things can happen where they live. This reminded me of when, my parents had told me never to go to certain parts of town as that is where bad things can happen. However as we are all curious when we are younger when our parents tell us things we tend to have the urgency to go do them. If our parents tell us not to do things, it makes us think there has got to be something worth seeing if we are told not to do it. Simba took that trip to the other side of the lands. His father thinking Simba was lost went to look for him and Simba’s father was attacked and killed. After, seeing the whole thing Simba ran he wasn’t sure what to do. His Uncle Scar had told Simba because Simba went to the place he shouldn’t have he was responsible for his father’s death, Simba was told he would be a disappointment to his mother and should go as far away as he possibly could. As the uncle knew if he convinced Simba of his guilt he would not want to disappoint his mother and would run. This would make the uncle next in line to be king if Simba couldn’t be found.
