– Self contained: will do a brief review of concepts from Corporate
Finance, having taken Valuation is useful but not required
– Handouts in class, slides uploaded on NYU Classes
– To see what’s next, check NYU Classes
• No Required texts:
– Useful textbooks for background reading

Investment Valuation 3rd Ed. by Damodaran
• Brealey, Myers Allen
• Ross Westerfield Jaffe
– Articles and cases

• HBS cases for detailed analysis
– Group assignments (5-7 people)
– 2 page executive summary + All spreadsheets
• Problem Sets
• Graded on a pass/fail basis; worst Problem Set will not count toward your grade
– solutions on NYU Classes

• Expect a lot of the work will be done out of the classroom • Participation is crucial
– Skipping classes
• Name tags
• Prerequisites
– Yes: Foundations of Finance, basic accounting & statistics
– No: Equity Valuation, Financial Modeling and Analysis
• No laptops in class or during exams, (financial) calculators are sufficient
– Free to use others spreadsheets but be responsible for your valuations and analysis

• Especially When:
– I use a term which is new or you are not complete sure what it means
– I am about to move to a new topic and you are lost on what we did and why it
