Lebron Vs Jordan
Who is the Greatest of All Time? Today in the NBA there is no question who the best player in the league is. Anybody in his or her right mind will say that it’s LeBron James. The small forward has dominated the league since he entered it in 2003. It is a very valid argument that LeBron could be the best player of all time, but it’s hard to tell if he will. It’s not possible to really compare their careers until LeBron first finishes his. Once LeBron is finished with his great career we can debate who is better. Thus far in LeBron’s career, however, he doesn’t compare to the shooting guard that goes by the name of Michael Jordan, not yet. One aspect that separates LeBron and Jordan as basketball players is how much they had to work for …show more content…
On the surface this may seem true, but upon a second glance this is obviously wrong. First of all, Jordan was not just a talented offensive player; he won the defensive player of the year award and was on the All NBA Defensive first team nine times (Basketball). Shooting and defense are Jordan’s two best attributes. People who think LeBron is better than Jordan might say that Jordan may be a better shooter than LeBron, but he could never have been the all around player that LeBron is. They might say Jordan was a ball hog who only shot the ball and couldn’t be a floor general like LeBron. Could Michael Jordan really have piled up triple doubles (three stats with double digit units) like LeBron does? Well let 's take a look at that. In March of 1989 John Paxson was injured, so Doug Collins moved Michael Jordan to the point guard position even though he was a shooting guard (Knicks). In Michael’s first game as a point guard, he dished out 15 assists in a blowout win over the Seattle Supersonics (Knicks). In his next game, Michael recorded a triple double with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists in another blowout of the Indiana Pacers (Knicks). On March 25, Michael began a run of 10 triple doubles in 11 games, including 7 straight before missing one against the Pistons where he had 40 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds (Knicks). He would finish the season with 15 triple doubles (NBA). Michael Jordan …show more content…
But undoubtedly his most distinguishable attribute was his clutch factor. One of the most clutch moments in sports is the game winning shot; the game is won with a make or is lost with a miss. In the playoff this shot becomes even more consequential. The league has seen no single player capitalize on more of these iconic moments than his airness Michael Jordan. Jordan is a remarkable 10-19 when it comes to taking the game winning shot in the playoffs (Michael). This is by far the most game winning shots, as well as the best percentage in this situation by any NBA player. To compare this to LeBron, he is only 4-15 when it comes to game winners (Michael). In addition to LeBron being a measly 4-15 on game winning opportunities, all four makes were during the regular season (Michael). Not only does Jordan destroy LeBron in this category, he does it in the playoffs whereas LeBron can only sometimes do it in the regular season. In order to commandeer the crown from Jordan and squeeze it over King James’s headband, he needs some historic streaks in the playoffs, not in the regular season. Jordan went to the NBA Finals six times, won them all, and was the MVP every time (Basketball). Along with double-digit scoring titles, he was also the best defensive player in the NBA (Basketball). LeBron James has the mentality of a great player: Championship or bust. LeBron is lovely. LeBron is great. The greatest?

Through the generations there have been many great athletes who have played in the NBA such as: Bill Russell who is considered to be one of the all-time great Boston Celtics. That is best known for winning eleven straight NBA championship, but he is not considered to be the greatest player due to the fact that during the time he played he didn’t receive the amount of money many people believe he deserved. Players like Allen Iverson who is best known for being one of the most versatile point guards in NBA history, but he is also not considered to be the greatest athlete in NBA history because he never won an NBA championship. Lastly Tim Duncan the power forward for the San Antonio Spurs who has won five NBA championships as well has made millions of dollars over his 17 career in the NBA, but he is also not considered to be the greatest NBA because Tim Duncan is looked…

He also won 5 MVP awards in the years of 1987, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1997. Jordan had a very exciting dunk contest in 1987. After a dual versus Dominique Wilkins he won the NBA dunk contest after his very famous dunk from the free throw line.He had also won defensive player of the year that same season! But in the years of 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998 he won in total 6 NBA finals rings! For him playing 15 seasons, that is a great record! Just to put this put there he only played for 2 NBA teams, ( Washington Wizards, and of course Chicago Bulls.) And to only play for 2 teams and win 6 rings is pretty impressive. With his many awards and his greatness and him being able to pull off 6 rings I can clearly see why people can see him as the ,“Greatest of all…

To begin, the ideal basketball player must show good basketball skills. You have to have the fundamental skills to play the game. These range from shooting and passing, to rebounding and defense. Good basketball skills are the foundation of Michael Jordan. He worked on his skills from high school to Chapel Hill to NBA, where his skills flourished to high levels. For an example, at the end of his career, Michael developed his low postgame where he would use his size to shoot a turnaround jump shot over the defending player. Michael had unbelievable body control, which allowed him to make…

LeBron James or Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player of all time? That is the question that is constantly being thrown around in the media and in turn, to all of us here at home. For me the answer is quite simple, and I will tell you why. Jordan (MJ) is “the best,” nd LeBron is the second best, or is he? MJ won six rings and LeBron James won just one. Does that make MJ better or not? MJ played in the Bulls and LeBron played with Calves, then moved to the Heat. I like MJ because he was so good and never really showed off, he was selfless. I don’t like LeBron because he shows off too much and plays dirty. MJ was a team player and LeBron is ball hog. I know the NBA is way different now, considering that a lot of the NBA players are stronger. Well this evaluation can determent by the championships, skill, popularity, who had the better team. Maybe you can say MJ is better in the 4th quarter than LeBron or other way around. Other differences between MJ and LeBron could be that, Jordan had three seasons of playing college basketball with great players and a great coach. MJ won an NCAA championship and would then later learn how to lose in the same NCAA tournament. He understood how to win with great players and how to play with role players and make them better. Because of this, LeBron will never have the leadership ability of MJ. LeBron could not teach his teammates in Cleveland how to be better and to be a champion, he had never been there. But you can say that does not really matter because skill matters more than leadership. But does that really matter? So what’s more important “How their stats looked in their first year winning a championship” or “How they perform?”…

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are two of the greatest basketball players to ever live. The way they play the game is memorizing. These two athletes are very extraordinary, though only one can be called the greatest of all time. The debate still and will always continue on who is the best. On one hand, there is the 6 time NBA champion in Michael Jordan; in the other there is the phenom who scored eighty- one points in one game, Kobe Bryant. In my opinion, Michael Jordan is and will always be the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. When I think of the word, "legend", only one name comes to my mind and that name is Michael Jordan. Even the president of the United States thinks MJ is the better choice. "Oh, Michael," the lifelong basketball fan told The Associated Press "I mean Kobe's terrific. Don't get me wrong," Obama said of the four-time NBA champion. "But I haven't seen anybody match up with Jordan yet". Michael Jordan tops Kobe Bryant in many ways, such as: offense, defense, and overall career achievements.…
