Latin American Independence Movement Leaders
Goal: In groups, students will teach the Latin American Independence Movements by focusing on the leaders of the movements.

Procedure:
1. Students will be divided into 6 groups:
 Simon Bolivar (Venezuela) Liberator of the North
 Jose San Martin (Argentina) Liberator of the South
 Bernardo O’Higgins (Chile)
 Toussaint L’Ouverture (Haiti)
 Miguel Hidalgo/Jose Morelos (Mexico)
 Benito Juarez (Mexico)
2. Each group will be given media time to research and create a power point on their leader. The information in the rubric must be included in the power point. Groups are responsible for bring the power point on a flash drive and checking that the drive work before the day of the presentation.
3. Each group will create a HERO BOX for their leader. The box must include 5 items that represent your leader. The box will be graded on the informative and creative nature of the items and box.
4. While groups are presenting, class members are required to take notes.
5. Groups will be graded on their content, participation, and attentiveness when others are presenting.
