Late start school is a good idea because it benefits teens health. Across America, 70% of teens don't get enough sleep. When students wake up to early, they have a greater risk of anxiety, depression, and obesity. They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but 20 to 30% of students don’t eat breakfast due to early start. In fact, some students have the time to eat a poptart, or cereal, or instant oatmeal, but since it’s so early they don’t think they're hungry. There are less tardies and absences with late start school. Test scores also are risen in reading and math. In a study, they found that the students number of students who were absent or late to first period class went from 80 teens to 44 teens. Data collected shows that kids are more alert with more sleep, which can improve grades by a lot. Some students struggle with math or science for example, but if they have those classes early in the mornings, they could drop down into bad grades because they are not fully awake
