Late Adulthood Research Paper
High school has always been a place for refinement. It allowed us to grow up from our mistakes and learn from them as well. However being taken out of that environment and being brought into college and being on the search for jobs becomes the real deal. Its our step into reality, and our first step to actual adulthood. The time were we learn to adjust ourselves to people and the workforce around us. We as humans, have many years. The choices we make at a young age have a lot to do with the future, that includes the four to five years after high school graduation, middle adulthood, and our late adulthood. Each one transitions to another, not necessarily as perfect as one could be, but including many roadblocks and challenges along the way.

High school graduation is coming up, and along with many other students, i'm afraid. I'm afraid of leaving, and i'm afraid of what my next step would be out of my safe zone. Although the most important things I have developed to know in high school is the act of focusing on the important things rather than the unnecessary. When it's time to leave Wylie East, when it's time to enter college, the most important relationship I would focus on developing is with myself. I would want to know how

I for myself, would still be working, because I wouldn't want others to bother and spend their money on me while I’m old. However, I would probably end up saving it all for myself and my partner so I could retire at the age of 65, and travel along to some places where i’ve always wanted to be around. Being old, I wouldn't want to worry about debts or such because I would have taken care of that a younger age. The only thing I would look forward to is my grandchildren and spending time with the people I care the most for, because they looked after me so much. In addition being with your loved ones at this age is also important, you’re growing old and your health starts to wear

High school classes might have seemed better in the past compared to college. You might feel more comfortable in smaller classes than you would heading off to university, but that is simply from the comfort of your surroundings. This might create a friendlier environment, but branching away from the only things you have ever known will help you grow as an individual. Growing up I remember watching television shows that did episodes on midlife crisis. They would usually involve the show’s dad upset about getting older. The dad exhibit youthful stereo typical behaviors like wearing a large earring, baggy pants or buying a sports car. But in the end all he needs is reinforcement that he is loved. Because I saw so many of these types of episodes on many different shows I believed that midlife crisis was a common occurrence among middle adulthood and was just a part of getting older. After reading the information in the textbook on midlife crises, I see that is not a part of growing up. Matter of fact midlife crisis do not exists. Midlife crisis was a result of faulty research.…

High school, somehow, is an interesting chapter of a person’s life. Automatically, a teenager feels a lot older when entering high school. He or she feels more mature, or at least most teenagers. Since they feel older, they want to start doing things that they would not be allowed to do while being in middle school. They want to start going to more parties; their social lives become an important part of their lives. All they want to do is hang out with their friends, not do homework nor study for tests. They do not want to learn or at least listen to things that “will not benefit them” for whatever career they wish to pursue at that moment. According to them, that knowledge will not be used by them during their whole lives. Sean Covey is the vice president of Innovations and Products at FranklinCovey, which is an organization that devotes to helping individuals and other organizations achieve greatness; he also is a popular speaker to youth and adult groups. He has written some books, including The 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make, in which he has a chapter where he writes about the…

It is unfortunate to say that as humans we are predisposed to certain topics and taboos throughout life, topics as tattoos, sex and aging. Before starting the Gerontology class I wondered what was there to understand concerning aging, regarding an older adult in the downhill of life. Furthermore, I wonder what I was supposed to learn concerning this topic that seems as simple as a white paper. Since the first day of class when I took the pre test I told myself I was enrolled on a rocky mission for a crude awakening.…

Starting high school was a terrifying idea to me. Different teachers, class times, lockers, drama! I remember that I always looked up to my older sister while she was in high school. She had tons of friends, played sports, participated in student government, and went out for the school play. I wanted to be just like her when I started high school. In middle school, I lined myself up for this, I played soccer in the fall and basketball in the winter. I helped out in the school plays, and I joined the student government. I had a group of great friends, and thought nothing bad was going to happen.…
