A student information system (SIS) is a software application for education establishments to manage student data. Also known asstudent information management system (SIMS), student records system (SRS), student management system (SMS), campus management system (CMS) or school management system (SMS).

The SIS is equivalent to an Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP system for a corporate customer. As such, many of the issues with ERP System Selection Methodology, implementation, and operation of an ERP system apply too.

These systems vary in size, scope and capability, from packages that are implemented in relatively small organizations to cover student records alone, to enterprise-wide solutions that aim to cover most aspects of running large multi-campus organizations with significant local responsibility. Many systems can be scaled to different levels of functionality by purchasing add-on "modules" and can typically be configured by their home institutions to meet local needs.

Until recently, the common functions of a student records system are to support the maintenance of personal and study information relating to:

• Handling inquiries from prospective students • Handling the admissions process • Enrolling new students and storing teaching option choices • Automatically creating class & teacher schedules • Handling records of examinations, assessments, marks, grades and academic progression • Maintaining records of absences and attendance • Recording communications with

Nebraska State has a continental climate. It has highly variable temperatures from season to season and year to year. In population wise the state rank is 38th among the total United States. In 2002 estimation, the Nebraska state total population was 1,729,180. The population was projected to reach 1,761,000 by 2005 and 1.9 million by 2025. Nebraska State has many religions. Nebraska's religious history derives from its patterns of immigration. German and Scandinavian settlers tended to be Lutheran; Irish, Polish, and Czech immigrants were mainly Roman Catholic. Methodism and other Protestant religions were spread by settlers from other Midwestern states. The state official language is English. The agricultural Nebraska state ranked 4th among the 50 United States. About $6.1 billion of all farm marketing came from livestock production, and $3.4 billion from cash crops. The US Fish and Wildlife Service maintain 87 public fishing areas. In Nebraska State has negligible commercial fishing. Nebraska has a small but growing industrial sector.     The social learning theory is reductionist as it only focuses on one side of the aspect. It focuses on how behaviour is learned through observation in which they are imitating other people’s actions and behaviour. This can be explained as Albert Bandura (1977) states behaviour is learned from the environment through the process of observational learning. Individuals that are observed are named models. In society, people such as children are surrounded by many influential models. This could include parents within the family, friends within their peer groups and at school and the media. The media can be an example could possibly be TV Disney characters. When children watch Cinderella they could possibly want to be like her, dress like her and act like her. Another example could be public health campaigns. JLS is a male group and they had brought out their own branded condoms. JLS had named their new range of condoms Just Love Safe in which encourages people to have safe sex. The target audience for the JLS branded condoms could possibly be for young teenagers as they have many JLS fans and now that they have brought out their own branded condoms teenagers now have an opportunity to have safe sex using the JLS condoms.People can learn inappropriate and unhelpful behaviour but then people can use the principles of operant conditioning to create a more new, helpful behaviour and eliminate the unhelpful ones. Using the principles of reinforcement and punishment is a very powerful way to change someone’s behaviour and this is often called behaviour modification. The technique tends to have been used with autistic children and this is to help them interact socially. Modelling behaviour is where people observe someone that they may admire behaviour in a particular way, and are more likely to imitate such behaviour.
