For potatoes like me >s
These past few days ,what have been my so-called short vacation, were my do-nothing-so-do-whatever-you-want days. People who would come to know what I’ve been doing (or what I have not been doing), will probably tell me, “Maglampaso ka buong araw”, “Wag kang uupo upo lang dyan”, and maybe the people who gets the nerdy awards would even convey “Try mo kayang magreview para sa next sem”. But you know, these days do not come and happen often, so why not treasure every minute of being a couch potato.
But you know, being a couch potato doesn’t always mean just sitting on the couch. And do-nothing days do not really exactly mean one does not do anything at all.
My vacation so far? Let’s just say I have been a couch potato spending weeks of do-nothing days. I have neevr done anything academically related for the past days and still, I’m proud of it, is it bad? I mean, I have not been that academically productive, but still, I believe I have been productive in my own ways. I just do things with lesser significance with that of the nerdy stuffs.
So my vacation looks a little, no scratch that, superbly like this:
Korean movies+ Tumblr + Instagram + Midnight snacks + Lots and lots of in between meals snacks + long essays like this + Camera Vanity + Planner + Doodle + Sketch Pad + BOOKSSSS! + Facebook all day online but never available for chat = MY VACATION, BOW
You see, being a couch potato isn’t being unproductive at all! Well, couch potatoes like me just choose to do stuff that requires sitting down on the very soft sofa more than standing up with all tiresomeness. SO YEAAA. I don’t know why I wrote these things. I think these things have been bothering me but now that I’ve written this essay , maybe I’m not that regretful for being a couch potato.

In Derek Bok’s “Protecting Freedom of Expression on the Campus” Bok has come face to face with the issue of protecting student rights’ when it comes to the first amendment and arguing that since Harvard University is a private school it should be allowed to be more flexible towards the situation. However, what Bok lacks is the actual reason to why private schools should be more flexible in its application of free speech. In this article he should have included the First Amendment rather than just stating that its unclear to what its extents are and what may or may not be considered offensive. What exactly makes a private school different than a public school when it comes to such rights as freedom of speech? Where is it written and explained what the differences are when it comes to a private school and a public school? Bok said, “ I have a difficulty understanding why a university such as Harvard should have less free speech than the surrounding society- or than a public university” (67). Nowhere in the article does it say why Harvard has less free speech than any public university or what the differences between the two were. Bok also describes that there isn’t a fine line between what is considered offensive and what is not. In this article he could have put examples on what different universities considered offensive or not offensive so the reader would have an idea of what extent he’s reaching to.…

As I sit here, writing this essay, I cannot help but think, what a mundane break it would have been if I had no homework to do. In fact, break should not be called break, if each and every student is not assigned some kind of exciting, thrilling school work to take home to do during the time-abundant, otherwise overwhelmingly boring, break.…

Most people do the same thing every day, going to work, eating, then sleeping. It’s a very dull way of living, yet most people don’t do anything about it. Of course, it’s not easy; leaving such a stasis life can be difficult, and it’s easier to not get in to that cycle than leaving it. However, being more spontaneous in life, even if you have to put in more effort, it’s better than being stuck in that…

The civil rights act of 1964 deeply affected the American society. These laws made sure that there were constitutional rights for African Americans and other minorities. Although these rights were first written in the U.S. Constitution immediately after the Civil War, they had never been enforced. It was only violence, years of highly publicized civil rights demonstrations, and marches that the political leaders acted to enforce these rights across America.…

    America the Beautiful

America is essentially the laziest country in the world. This elucidates why there’re so many lazy people in it, like myself. However, being lazy does not necessarily mean America is a bad country; laziness makes America the unique and beautiful country we know and love. Being lazy can be awful or great, but when I describe how excited I am to go on vacation, it’s a huge deal. I’m never more anxious than the morning I wake up to go on vacation once a year. Consequently, I am usually at my worst when my family and I leave for vacation. Although I only spend a week at this place, it’s potentially the best week that I spend each and every year.…

How I Spend My Free Time

    • 279 Words

As a student, I am quite busy on weekdays. However, at weekends, I have much free time, so I usually spend it on relaxing to prepare for a coming busy week. First of all, in my free time, I like playing some sports, such as soccer, badminton or basketball, with my friends. Sport not only makes me stronger but also connects me with my friends who have the same hobbies. We sometimes go riding in order that we can combine sporting activity and sightseeing. If the weather is not fine enough for me to hang out with my friends, I like to read books. I have a big bookshelf with many kinds of books but I prefer science books. Through these books, my knowledge is gradually enlarged. Thirdly, I also love to listen to music from pop, rock 'n roll to rap or melody. I can listen to music at any place with a small but modern Ipod which is my father's gift for my 18th birthday. Sometimes, I dance freely when listening to my favorite songs. Music really paints my life. Last but not least, I spend my free time on surfing on Internet. I can chat with my friends from very far distance or log on websites to read online news. With Internet, I update many things without having to go anywhere. I can also study English through some interesting websites. (If I have very difficult exercises and cannot solve them by myself, I will visit Google Answers and have somebody to help me. Just like this one ^^). In conclusion, I want to use all of my free time to relax and connect with other…
