Lady Macbeth Lady Macbeth of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, is a familiar character even to those that have never read the play. Her name can be heard being referenced or used as an insult to a woman, to compare a shady or manipulative personality trait. Although she does not actually commit any murders, she is notably one of the most famous villains in literature. I found it very interesting that prior to reading this play, I knew more about Lady Macbeth and her character flaws (to say the least), than Macbeth and his murderous deeds.
