What are the benefits of women traveling alone? I am studying the topic benefits of traveling. In my essay, I will talk about how traveling affects each person differently, and also what benefits it has on them after they have came back. Traveling has a lot of positive and negative benefits though the positive ones are way more than the negatives. I believe that traveling widens your perspective and makes you look at the world in a different way. Traveling makes you see all of the good and bad in the world; it opens your eyes to all of the reality in the world. This essay is appropriate for a 6-8 page paper because I have read a lot of articles and scholarly journals about the topic inside and outside of this class which I know will help me write a good paper. I have also written an essay about a similar topic that I think will help me add ideas to my paper and make my argument strong a strong one. The research question that I’m basing my paper on is going to be, what are the benefits of women traveling alone?
A lot of scholars/researchers have studied the same, or the similar topic. The most relevant research Kate Convisser. She bases her research on the top 5 benefits of traveling in women. Convisser explains that traveling, especially alone, makes you a more confident person, it makes you experience and see the world in your own eyes, rather than through a perspective of someone else, it also makes you learn and get familiar about the different cultures and customs of different places, it makes you have new experiences, and meet new people.
Traveling alone can be dangerous if you’re not familiar to the place. A lot of people argue that women need to take special precautions while traveling alone to a foreign country.
Although the scholars all write about the same subject, but their ideas differ from one another. Wendy Geister author of the article, “Tragedy in Turkey Sparks debate on Women Traveling Solo” has a different idea from Kate Convisser. Geister believes that women travelers should take extra time to research about the place they are going and take special precautions while at the place. On the other hand, Convisser believes that women shouldn’t have to worry about anything while traveling. Traveling is a time to relax and ponder, having to worry about everything would put a lot of women in stress and make the trip less enjoyable. This shows how different scholars/researchers have different ideas and beliefs on the topic of women traveling, so it is best to read each article carefully.

For younger people, it can be hard to travel because of money issues or not being able to get away from school and vacations from work. Men and women who are retired aside of having money saved up throughout the years are getting checks from their social security benefits. Individuals who explore new places can meet people from different parts of the world. If they like the place they would be able to stay for as long as they want because they will not have to worry about returning to work on a specific day. Retired people might want to explore Mexico or another place that can be expensive like China. Having to not worry about a job anymore and still receiving money can be great if one is still in shape of being able to walk, see, or take care of themselves. Essentially if an old person wants to visit someone instead of just sitting at home, it would be great if they did not have to count on anybody to take them because they can do it themselves. Seeing family that one has not seen in years can affect a person’s mood, but it can also bring happiness. New places that one explores can make an individual want to return soon and will offer them deals that will make them think about even moving out there. As retired individuals see their advantage of being able to travel, they will run into better benefits that they would rather have close to there…

I have always had a knack for traveling. Since a young age I have found comfort in going to places I have never been. Embracing the culture and questioning why things are done a certain way and exploring the incredible world that I am surrounded by. It brings me peace just being somewhere I have never been. I think it is important to be put in situations that you might not be familiar with and learn how to adapt, how to survive on your own. It’s important to go to unfamiliar places and meet unfamiliar people.…

    * Meeting people Travelling solo does not mean that you will always be alone. In fact, it allows you to meet more people because other tourists and locals find an individual traveller more approachable than those in a tightly-knit group. Also, people in groups have very little need to reach out to others for communication. I have met more people, had more interesting conversations and invitations and made more long-term friends while eating alone in foreign restaurants or sitting alone at bars.…

The camp consisted of girls from all over the world, including Kenya and Brunei. At the age of 13, I traveled from North Carolina to India independently. Traveling alone gave me the opportunity to spend time with myself, and rely on myself. It gave me a sense of pride and contentment. I had experienced loneliness most of my life, but it was different when I was sitting alone in an airport for 12 hours at such a young age. The traveling experience itself helped me mature and become more…

A woman travelling alone is becoming increasingly common in today’s society as women wish to seek independence and travel the world to gain a new perspective on different aspects of their lives. However, sadly women still have to cross many hurdles and limit themselves when travelling solo to feel as if they are safe. This many include things like restricting where they go or what people they are around and possibly going out less at night than what is desired (Wilson & Little, 2008). These boundaries make travelling solo less desirable. One of the main aspects of solo women’s travel that was an issue was the gazing, whether men in foreign countries were just curious of a women that looked different to what they were used to or whether they saw her as a sexual object it is hard to tell, either way it makes women feel uneasy (Wilson & Little, 2008). This perception of what men were thinking discourages women to push the boundaries and take themselves to their limits.…

    The Effects of Traveling

Traveling abroad teaches individuals to be more social with people from different background. That leads them to go over their social phobias like shyness and leading themselves without helping or relying on relatives or friends. That forces them to talk to strangers if they are in difficult circumstances to help them. However, they would have a confident and sense to know which stranger people they could trust or could not. Then they would have self- reliance to make a decision by themselves (Jacob, 2010). For example, if the traveler lost their important stuff with the locations map, he could not know where the correct direction to go to the police station is. He had better have these characters to go over this hard situation. In addition, travelers would also have to have wariness to protect themselves and their possessions, such as money and important documents.…

    Travel Alone? Group?

First of all I would like to focus on travelling alone. As I have explained going alone means travelling to a new country without the company of a friend or a guide. The positive things that you can get are that there are more freedom in adventures you can go to, you can walk on your own pace, you can experience things your map doesn’t tell you like an exotic transportation using a rickshaw, perhaps you have family along the way of your travel you can go visit them on your way, you can choose who you want to be friends with during your trip, and many more. But the downhill of this is that you might get robbed and if you are in another country and you don’t have any relatives you may get conned and get lost in your way, the visa would also probably be harder to get and if you promised to go to somewhere and you don’t get a permit your planned trip will only be a waste of time and energy.…
