Travel Alone? Group?
Alone? Group?
Travelling can be done in many ways. Either alone, with family, or with a group like an organized tour. Travelling alone means that you go by yourself to another place or country either to visit or to have fun. Travelling in a group means you go with a whole lot of people whether it’s a group of friends, group of people with the same interest, family, etc. But in this particular essay I would be focusing more on organized tours for the group section. First of all I would like to focus on travelling alone. As I have explained going alone means travelling to a new country without the company of a friend or a guide. The positive things that you can get are that there are more freedom in adventures you can go to, you can walk on your own pace, you can experience things your map doesn’t tell you like an exotic transportation using a rickshaw, perhaps you have family along the way of your travel you can go visit them on your way, you can choose who you want to be friends with during your trip, and many more. But the downhill of this is that you might get robbed and if you are in another country and you don’t have any relatives you may get conned and get lost in your way, the visa would also probably be harder to get and if you promised to go to somewhere and you don’t get a permit your planned trip will only be a waste of time and energy. Secondly are the pros and cons of an organized tour. The organized tour is more structured in terms of booking, plans and other things. Since it’s an organized tour they’re bound to have prepared with tourist sites that are famous covering most of wants of the audiences. The other advantage is that you have a guide who would lead you everywhere and tell you everything you want to know so you don’t get lost, they would have also provided transportation, accommodation and other basic things that you need for travel, sometimes they even help you do the visa, you could also get to know many people that have the same

One of the main purposes of travel is to gain experiences that allow us to grow and develop as individuals and it is important that people travel the way that bests suits them at a particular time. For example, I like to go on adventure holidays and this invariably includes a small group and expert guide, and I frequently participate in writing retreats around the world with like-minded people. However for me, the real joy of travelling has always been to take off on my own and just 'see' what comes along the way. Of course this can sometimes be fraught with frustrations, difficulties and even dangers.…

The Berries experienced the pre-affiliation stage when we first formed our small groups. We were not familiar with each other at first so the activity using the prompt cards given to us in class to get to know each were really helpful. We did not see our relationships as intimate, as most of us had never met, we just happen to be sitting close to each other in class and that was how we picked our group. At first, we did not even want to get together to watch 12 Angry Men and watched it on our own because we did not want to spend time together. We got along well during the card prompt activity but experienced some approach and avoidance because we thought it was just a typical group project that was going to be awful (Bernstein, 1965). We all brought past experiences with groups to the group interactions at first that influenced the way we interacted with the current group.…
