FILE FORMATS
RTF (rich text format)- is a proprietary document file format with published specification .
TXT (text file) - a kind of computer file that is structured as a sequence of lines of electronic text.
XLS - a spreadsheet file format
SWF- is an Adobe Flash file format used for multimedia, vector graphics and Action Script.
ZIP- is an archive file format that supports lossless data compression
JPEG- is an image saving format for digital photography
PNG ( portable network graphics)- a bitmap image file forma
CSV (comma-separated values)- the file is a sequence of characters, with no data that has to be interpreted instead, as binary numbers
HTML (hyper text markup language)- language used for creating web pages
INTERFACES
GUI- graphical user interface - is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices through graphical icons and visual indicators such as secondary notation, as opposed to text-based interfaces, typed command labels or text navigation.
CLI- command-line interface- is a means of interacting with a computer program where the user issues commands to the program in the form of successive lines of text .
MDI- multiple document interface- is a graphical user interface in which multiple windows reside under a single parent window.
WEB BASED APPLICATION- This could be any type of application that is operated though web
Application software’s are all the computer software that causes a computer to perform useful tasks beyond the running of the computer itself. While System software is computer software designed to operate and control the computer hardware and to provide a platform for running application software.
