#11. Research one of the battles during the Indian Wars with the Americans during the late 1800s. Create an annotated bibliography of two images and two written sources you would use if you were going to give a presentation. Each annotation will include 2-3 sentences about how the source would be used and why it is important. Must use MLA citation of your sources.
Refer to page 457 in your text for reference. All references must come from different sources; Wikipedia is NOT accepted.

This is a primary source, an eyewitness account of the actual Battle of Little Bighorn. This could be used to describe the fight and give a mental image into how violent it was. This source could provide a clear understanding of how the battle was fought.

To firmly attach a label to any given person or people is difficult because the distinction between a robber baron and a captain of industry alternates with the point of view from which you hold.     When I was in high school I wasn't a very good student, I didn't really apply myself to anything. I had no dreams of going to college or doing anything special with my life. No one had ever encouraged me to do anything better than I was or to try harder. My parents were not college graduates, they both worked full time jobs and had to raise four kids. I knew there wasn't enough money to send me to college, and my guidance counselor never explained financial aid to me. I graduated, got a job and worked one dead end job after another, until I got married and started a family. I spent the next fifteen years raising my son and daughter and encouraging them to continue their education after high school. About a year ago my husband decided he wanted a divorce, and I was left wondering ;"What am I going to do now?" Since graduation I have always regretted not going to college, I have always wanted to work with children, either as a counselor or in social work. My parents suggested that I should go back to school. I applied at Ashford University. I have always thought of myself as a failure, but I'm not scared of failing anymore, I am however afraid of letting myself down for not trying hard enough,and for me that just isn't good enough anymore. I want more for myself and I want to look in the mirror everyday and be proud of who I see.     The first week of my On the Job Training (OJT), we welcomed by the employees of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). I felt nervous and excited because it is the second time that I will have my OJT. In the first day, Ma’am Coleen Cas oriented us all about the NTC, the works, the vision and mission, their principles, and what they offered to clients. She also tours us in the office, meet and greet with other employees. I felt also pressured that I can’t finished what the assigned tasked they will give me. Ma’am Colleen asked us of what can we contribute to their company. We said that we can make Website and Data Management System/Information System for them. At that time we did not wasted the time; I downloaded the software that we are going to use for the tasked to finish. I downloaded XAMP use as database in website, Wordpress use as tools for creating website and Visual Basic 6, tools for creating the System. I also used to file records in the records section. I also do scanning and photocopy of several documents. As week gone by, I consumed my time in downloading and uploading themes and pictures, designing the website, editing pictures using Photoshop and installing programs. It is hectic week for me and my co-OJT. Our minds were drained. We are all tested. We practiced what we learned from school and we applied to it. A good week for our OJT.…

    Theories of Decision Making The Rational Comprehensive Model The rational comprehensive model is based on the reasoning of economists, mathematicians, and psychologists. It assumes that the decisionmaker can identify the problem, that the decisionmaker’s goals, values, and objectives are clear and ranked in accord with their importance, that alternative ways of addressing the problem are considered, that the cost and benefits or advantages and disadvantages of each alternative are investigated, that alternatives and their consequences can be compared with other alternatives, and that the decisionmaker will choose the alternative that maximizes the attainment of his or her goals, values, and objectives. However, problems are not always clearly defined; problems have to be formulated in a way which enables people to make decisions about them. Decisionmakers must have vast amounts of information in order to make use of the rational comprehensive decision-making technique. There needs to be an ability to predict the future consequences of decisions made. Also, problems confronting decisionmakers often embody conflicting values. In addition, it is tough to ignore the sunk costs of former decisions, these may foreclose many alternatives. Moreover, this model of decisionmaking assumes that there is one (unitary) decisionmaker, when in fact a great many people, interests and institutions are usually involved. The Incremental Theory Attempts to correct deficiencies of the rational comprehensive model and to better describe how policy decisionmakers actually behave have resulted in incremental theory. Incremental theory holds that the selection of goals and objectives is intertwined with, not distinct from, the scientific analysis of the problem. Decision makers only consider alternatives for dealing with a problem that differs marginally (incrementally) from existing policies (suggesting that they do not completely remake policy every time they make a policy decision, but…

    We've all seen it in the movies: The man in blue hospital scrubs holding his wife's hand in the delivery room telling her to push. But does this really help labor along or just give the nervous dad-to-be something to do? In a study published in the January 2006 edition of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, researchers found that women who were told to "push" during contractions didn't birth much faster than women who just did what their bodies told them. Babies in the group that was coached to push made their appearances on average only 13minutes earlier than babies in the uncoached group, and no other differences or benefits were noted in the coached group. Could "push, push, push" soon be a passé phrase in the labor and delivery room? Is Coaching Necessary? Researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas looked at 320 women who were giving birth for the first time. None had complicated pregnancies, none received an epidural and they were randomly assigned. The 163 women in the "coached" group were told to push for 10 seconds during a contraction, while the 157 women in the "uncoached" group were told to "do what comes naturally." "Aside from a 13-minute shorter second stage of labor, we found no other benefits in the coached group, including no difference in route of delivery (C-section, forceps, vaginal) or episiotomy/lacerations," says Dr. Steven Bloom, professor and chairman of obstetrics and gynecology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
