Joshua Apeku Personal Report
I am Joshua Apeku, born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. This is my second year at Tarrant County College, pursuing Associate of Arts. I will be transferring to UTA, sometime next year. Reallocating to the US has been the most important event in my life, I have learned a lot of things. The culture is totally different compared to the other side of the world. An example is, people in Ghana will see it as an insult to receive or take something with the left hand, whereas here it is normal. I have family here so this change not really affect me. I am hoping to learn more about the history of this country in this class.

For my response to be to Joshua is that he would have to ask his parents about what is going on. Due to I am not on your case I am not aware with what is going on with your care plan. If you would like Joshua I can go ask the doctor who is on his case to talk with you and your parents about your care. Also, I can not discuss what is going on due to you’re a minor and your parents have control with what is happening with your care and what we are allowed to tell you. Due to the ethical standing Joshua I am not allowed to discuss your care with you unless I have your parent’s permission and if I was on your care team to know what is happening. With this response I am following all the ethical principles by being fidelity, non-maleficence, and beneficence.…

African-American culture is rooted in Africa. It is a blend of chiefly sub-Saharan African and Sahel an cultures. Although slavery greatly restricted the ability of Americans of African descent to practice their cultural traditions, many practices, values, and beliefs survived and over time have modified or blended with white culture. There are some facets of African-American culture that were accentuated by the slavery period. The result is a unique and dynamic culture that has had and continues to have a profound impact on mainstream American culture, as well as the culture of the broader world.…

At the beginning of this course, I hoped to learn about cultures that I previously knew little about. I think that this class did help me achieve this goal. I learned about issues, like the Arab Spring, that I had little knowledge of previously. One issue that I knew especially little about was the Blood Diamonds. While in the past I had heard the term "blood diamonds" mentioned, nobody had ever thoroughly explained what those were and how they came to be. I never knew that slaves mined the gems, and that the money acquired from selling the diamonds was used to fund a war. The issue helped me see how influential the shopping habits of developed countries can be on other nations across the world. If there is an injustice taking place, every…
