Johnny Alfred Character Analysis
Johnny Alfred grew up in an abusive and horrible childhood in Brooklyn,New York. His dad abandoned him and mom when he was 10 years old. His one dream was to become a professional NBA star. He dreamed to be as good as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Allen Iverson. Little did he know that dream would become a reality. His dream of becoming an NBA star will be true and he’ll prosper into a great player. It’s a pretty good prediction since Johnny is a pretty bulky guy for his height. He was tall, fast, and looked scary. Later in his life, times got even tougher for him. His mom was disgusted by his attitude and facial expressions when he was 13 years old. She literally kicked out her own son out of her house because she didn’t tolerate his attitude and actions. Keep in mind, this is a 13 year old boy who didn’t have a father to look up from or learn from for the past 3 years. He’s going to need to sleep on the streets and learn how to make money for clothes and food. She was in her 30s and was tall. She had dark brown hair and was feared by little kids because of her rude appearance Johnny’s love for basketball …show more content…
However, Marquette got angry, they made a late fourth quarter run and tied to the game up with seconds left on the clock. Duke calls timeout to run a play to try and win the game, they’ll most likely put the ball in the hands of their leader, Kyrie Irving. The ref blows the whistle, gives the ball to the inbound taker, and the inbound taker passes to Kyrie. 3...2...1 Kyrie takes a shot with everyone in the stands on the edge of their seats. All Johnny could do is admire the ball going through the air, hoping that it won’t go in the basket. Sadly, Marquette University’s hopes of the basketball team were crushed that day. Kyrie drilled the shot in and his team advanced. It was a heart-breaking time for not only the players, coaching staff, and fans as

Krakauer wrote that Chris McCandless was, "green, and he overestimated his resilience, but was sufficiently skilled to last for sixteen weeks on a little more than his wits and ten pounds of rice"(Krakauer 182). In this quote it seems that Krakauer thought that McCandless was well equipped with his skills, so that made moderately prepared to survive in any situation. I feel that McCandless was rather prepared, yet again he never could have been fully prepared for the unexpected. My opinion is that McCandless was vaguely aware of the struggles that he would encounter in the Alaskan wilderness such as his epiphany that "happiness is only real when shared" was realized when his body was dying of starvation. I believed that he found what he was…

On May, 8, 2015 I sat in front of a glowing T.V. watching the Cleveland Cavaliers play Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. The clock was down to three seconds and the Bulls had the ball on the left sideline. The scoreboard read 96-96 as Derrick Rose caught the ball at the top of the key. Derrick released the ball with a flick of his wrist and sent it towards the hoop. The ball rotated backboard was illuminated by a bright cherry colored light as the time expired on the clock. The basketball rotated through the air in a paced that seemed to be slow motion. The ball hit the glass and fell into the net softly. Derrick’s teammates rushed the court to celebrate with an excited look on their face, but Derrick had a look on his face that didn’t show…

While continuing to further his success, Jacob enjoys setting goals and crushing them at the end of each race at the finish line. The tall and lanky, young man thanks God every day for allowing him to show off his abilities in running and academics. If not running at practice, you might find Jacob chatting with his best friend, Cole Westphal, or maybe lounging on his bed, preparing for his next event. If relating Jacob to his sign, a Scorpio, you might see some characteristics that he expresses regularly, such as passion, dedication, and loyalty. In order…

His mom would do horrible things to him, things that no one should ever have done to them. She made him drink ammonia, burn his arm on a gas stove, starve him, whip him, throw him down stairs. She wanted him dead; she would try to freeze him in ice cold baths and mix chemicals together and force him to breathe them in, resulting in him throwing up blood. She once even stabbed him in the stomach with a knife and never took him to the hospital or anything. She was a horrible person and until the day she died she did not regret anything she did to him.…

He goes to the hoop. He jumps, hanging in the air for what felt like eternity. It was his second game. Brought up from the D-League, he needed to prove himself. His name is Jeff “Elmo” Beige. As the ball is coming down, closer to the hoop another individual comes into play. The name is unnecessary to know, but the man is key to Jeff’s story. The man jumps. He didn’t have to, but he did it anyway. His six-foot ten body could have easily blocked the shot on Jeff’s six-foot five structure. As Jeff’s hand with the ball comes crashing toward the net the man’s hand makes contact with the ball. The ball doesn't even touch the rim. Rejected at the rim. Jeff’s career is over at that very moment. One block defined his whole basketball career. Such a dejected ending for a fantastic story.…

The movie Johnny Tremain helped me gain more knowledge about the American Revolution from a different perspective. Johnny Tremain is a work of historical fiction, combining real people and events like Paul Revere, Sons of Liberty, and the Boston Tea Party, and fictional ones like Jonathan Tremain, Priscilla Lapham, and Ephraim Lapham. The fictional characters, although these people did not historically exist, gave me a personal insight to the actual events that occurred such as the Boston Tea Party, and the Battle of Lexington and Concord. These characters gave this film variety and creativity which made me learn more about the real events.…

Jacob was the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham. His mother was Rebekah and his older brother was Esau. Jacob was the younger of his father's two sons and was the one less favored in the eyes of his father. Jacob was the one favored in the eyes of his mother, Rebekah. Jacob was highly motivated in getting what he wanted. It is significant that the author of Genesis takes ten chapters on Jacob’s life, because he has such a critical role in the development of the Hebrew/Old Testament Bible. He only spent 11 chapters describing the period from creation to the Tower of Babel. He spends 14 chapters on Abraham in which we see the establishment of God’s covenant with His people.…

After years of foster care, he was finally adopted by a family that had no other kids. I thought about how he must of felt really alone when he was at home. His feelings must have also continued at school, where he would show up to have no friends waiting outside to talk to him. School was always something that had come naturally to me, but for him it was all but easy. He struggled to read and write, while I excelled with public speaking. It was evident that his actions were only to cover up his vices, while he became my enemy. I have learned extensively - especially in Religion 35, that people are guided by their conscience. Throughout the duration of his life, his conscience must have been tainted, while he picked up poor behaviour as he had no stable examples of how to guide relationships, and to treat people with respect. Social determinisms play a large role in how people become who they are, and though this course I have become more and more grateful for how lucky my life has turned…
