Is Johnny A Hero Essay
Johnny

Do you know what a hero is? A hero to me is someone who has courage to stand up against things and that risks his own life for something small. They are also outstanding achievements. “Y’all were heroes from the beginning.” (Hinton,107) I believe that someone in the book “The Outsiders” named Johnny is a hero. He is because he saved Ponyboy, he saved all the kids from the church that caught on fire, and he gave Dally something to live for. Ponyboy and Johnny fell asleep in the park and Pony didn’t wake up until it was about two in the morning he had to run home because he was supposed to be back earlier. When he walked into his house Darry started to yell at him because he was late and then he hit Pony. No one has ever hit him so he went back to Johnny and said that they're going to run away. At first they just walked to the park and when they got there soc’s

Without Johnny Dally wouldn’t be here. Dally loved Johnny to Dally Johnny was little pet and would try not to let anything happen to him. The reason I chose this as one of the events of Johnny being a hero because Dally wouldn't be as strong as he was without him. “We gotta get even with the Socs. For Johnny.” (Hinton,125) He was a hero for Johnny because if he didn't get hurt he probably wouldn’t have gotten even with the Socs and things would not be normal again they would be the same but maybe worse.
There is other characters in The Outsiders but to me I feel like Johnny was the most heroic. The other characters didn't help the other people of the gang like the way Johnny does. Even though people say Johnny has done some really bad things he made up for doing all those things to save Pony and by saving the kids that were in the burning church. He risked his life because after he had to go to the hospital because metal or part of the roof fell on him and it burnt his back and he was in very bad pain so he ended up dying from

Throughout the Outsiders novel, one can see that despite everything that Johnny has done, he was still considered a hero. At the start of the book, Johnny was very modest and would never move out of his comfort zone. However, as the novel proceeds, he developed into a complex hero because of his courage, responsibility, and acts of kindness. In the book The Outsiders, it has been proven that a hero may be found in the most unlikely of individuals, including supposedly introverted boys, like Johnny Cade.…

Johnny acts like a hero in two parts of the book. First of all he acts like a hero in the fire where he saves those kids, anyone that's going to risk their lives for someone else is a so called hero. Secondly he acts like a hero when he is on his deathbed at the hospital and Johnny comes in to talk to him before he goes, and he tells Ponyboy to “stay gold”.…

Others can be classified as "good people", others even "heroic". But the true hero of this piece is an unlikely one. A person who was not perfect and had many faults, as well was not completely good or bad. This person was John Proctor, the true hero of the play. He begins as a mere farm worker like an average everyday person. As his life progresses, he makes bad decisions and runs into even worse conflicts.…

S.E. Hinton wrote an amazing book called The Outsiders. This book has many amazing characters. So many of these characters are heroic. Darry has strength, Two-bit has loyalty, Dally has courage, Johnny has kindness, Soda has charm, but Pony has loyalty, courage, and kindness combined. That is my personal definition of a hero.…

Johnny is a hero in The Outsiders because he has helped people. The first way he has helped people is when he killed Bob to save Ponyboy from drowning. This helps people because that way Ponyboy survives and does not die. The second way he has helped people is when he decided to turn himself in. This is an act of heroism because he helps Ponyboy because it makes his life easier by not having to hide out all his life and by being able to go places and be a real person again. The third and final way Johnny is a hero is because he saves kids from the burning church. This helps people because it saves many kids' lives while risking his own life. Johnny risked his life so many times for many people and that is why he…

To begin with, Johnny proves he is a hero throughout the story. First, he acts like a hero during the fire. Anyone who will risk themselves to save others is a hero at that moment. "In the back, I guess," I hollered, and we started stumbling through the church." (pg. 92) This proves that Johnny is a hero in the novel The Outsiders because Johnny sacrificed themselves to save the kids stuck in the church on fire. Johnny grew as a hero from this experience. Second, I think you can argue that Johnny is a hero as he dies. Instead of thinking only of himself and feeling sorry for himself, he is clearly focused on others. It is his note to Pony that helps motivate Ponyboy to "stay gold." During the novel, Johnny states, “Johnny’s eyes glowed. Dally was proud of him. That was all Johnny had ever wanted. 'Ponyboy. Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold . . .…

Ponyboy is a hero because he shows courage during the time the church was on fire. He and Johnny decided to save the little kids from the burning church. He’s also a courageous hero because when he was saving people in the burning church he says “ I didn’t pay any attention, although pieces of the old roof were crashing down too close for comfort. I snatched up another kid, hoping he didnt bite, and dropped him without waiting to see if he landed okay or not,”(79). Or when he said, I would, I would help her and Randy both if I could.
