Recently, cruelty free makeup has become a popular in the cosmetic industry. People are becoming more aware of how dangerous cosmetic testing is to animals. The ad said “How Many Rabbits does Revlon Blind for Beauty's Sake?” This ad created an outrage and brought much attention to the Draize drug being tested on animals. The Draize test is little drops placed in the test animals eyes. This drug causes excruciating pain to the animal and can cause blindness. There is now may cosmetic companies making their products cruelty free due to the pictures of animals that were tested on being exposed to the public. After the commotion of the ad, a campaign called Be Cruelty-Free was created. The campaign was created by The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International. The campaign is going for L’Oreal. L’Oreal still uses animals in their cosmetic testing and sells their products in China, where animal testing is still a common
