Pangs of hunger strike late in the night. I wonder if anyone is up for some “mamak” food. Out comes my iPhone, and within minutes of posting a message on Twitter, I get responses from several friends - all hungry and quite willing to venture out in search for food. At the “mamak”, we see a trailer on the television in front of us for movie. My friend immediately whips out his Android phone and posts info about it on Facebook.
I cannot and dare not think about what this world would be without the existence of such inventions that have helped to make our daily lives go by easier and in such interesting manners. Mobile technologies that constantly evolve have changed the twenty-first century in so many different ways. “Mobile technology” is the collective term used to describe the various types of cellular communication technology. Since the beginning of this millennium, a standard mobile device has gone from being no more than a simple two-way pager to being a cellular phone to being a phone with an embedded GPS navigation system, web browser, an Instant Messenger client and a hand-held video gaming system. Such phones have since taken on the term of being Smartphones.
Smartphones are phones that offer more advanced computing abilities and connectivity than that of a normal cellular phone. They are thought of as handheld computers within a mobile telephone that allows the user to install and run more advanced applications based on a specific platform.
