Invent Gifted Student Center Research Paper
Since kindergarten, I loved creating inventions. Any ideas I had, I would record it on my invention notebook even if it is unrealistic. Fortunately, in third grade, my teacher who knew I liked inventing, recommended me to apply for invent gifted student center. Invent gifted student center is program that allows students to develop their inventing ability as well as their creativity. Believing it was a great opportunity to actually learn about inventing, I applied for it and was accepted. In the program, I learned the basics of inventing and different types of inventions that was created using this skill. We also tried building our own invention with the materials that they provided: paperclips, cardboards, straws, glue sticks and rubber bands. With these materials, I made a mirror that people can use when they are self cutting their hair and was presented with the best idea award. I was excited and satisfied that I was doing what I wanted to do most. …show more content…
In order to win in this competition, the most creative and practical invention must be created. I was also interested in this competition and decided to participate. For days, I brainstormed what invention I should create, but I couldn’t think of anything. Every idea I had seemed useless and childish. Then one day, a week before the competition, I had to bring watercolor paint to school. But when I opened it, it was hard as a rock that blocked me from using it. This experience gave me a brilliant invention. As paints dry so quickly, we have to buy new paints all the time. To decrease this cumbersome activity, I attached a little plastic spuit on the cap so that water can be dropped into the tube regularly before using it. I presented this invention in the competition, and I was presented with first place and competed in regional competition.
