Central idea: Awareness of our characteristics, abilities and interests informs our learning and development.
Inquiry into:
Physical, social and emotional characteristics
Similarities and differences between ourselves and others
Personal skills and interests

2nd USING OUR SENSES

Subjects: Maths, SS, Science, Language

Central idea: We have 5 senses to help us explore our world.

Inquiry into:

How our senses work and how we use them
How people live with the absence of a sense
How we use senses to interpret our environment
How the absence of a sense affects the other senses

3rd HEALTHY LIVING
Subjects: Maths, SS, Science, Language
Central idea: The choices we make in regard to food, hygiene and exercise impact how we feel and how our body functions.
Inquiry into:

What are healthy choices
The impact our choices have on our body
Our responsibility in keeping our body healthy
4th HUMAN BODY
Subjects: Maths, SS, Science, Language
Central idea: Our bodies are made up of interrelated systems, which need to be maintained for healthy functioning.
Inquiry into:

Body systems and how they work
Ways in which the body systems are interrelated
How healthy choices affect body systems

5th BELIEFS
Subjects: Arts, Science, Language.
Central idea: What we believe is a part of who we are.
Inquiry into:
What we believe
How believe is a part of who we are
The impact of religion and spiritual traditions on society
