On the 1st of March February 2013, the first day of Leadership Camp, 3.30p.m , we registered and got our name tags that were laminated into pieces of color paper that had different characteristics about someone on the back. After a while, we gathered in the chapel. The facilitators were introduced. Madam Chia and Mr. Gobi both gave their own speeches and not long after the camp officially started.
It started off with a game where when the facilitators gave a number we had to follow and do according the action that was given followed by the number, it went on for about 15 minutes. Later, they asked us to find our own groups, it was hard at first, everyone was lost and everything was in a mess but later someone suggested we matched the length of our name tags together and find our respective groups.
After that, everyone sat in circles with their groups, it was not over. We also had to match all our name tags to find our groups facilitators. After we have found our respective facilitors we got to know each other's name and played a game. This was how to play this game, when someone with the newspaper call your name you have to say another person's name to prevent them from hitting you with the newspaper.
Later, we sat down and the facilitators introduced to us another game. It had to do with bombs, but

Once the meeting started, it moved along according to an agenda. Others had been given materials to read as I had. As people were called upon to read what was given to them, I realized that these materials were read at every meeting as they all seemed to have them memorized and recited along with the reader or when the reader came to certain parts of the reading, they had a response. Once the Who is an Addict? and, What is the Narcotics Anonymous Program were read then everyone introduced themselves by first name only – Hello, my name is _______ and I am an addict. The group responded with, Hello, ________. Following this, members read Why are We Here?, How it Works, The…

The first game my group played was called Long Story Short. It was a game that consisted of five players, each with white boards and dry erase markers. The object of the game was to finish the story that the selected judge had read to us. We had to complete the story using either a text message, tweet, comic strip, or a headline. Based upon whatever number the judge rolled on the dice. This game gives off a fun party like atmosphere, and is a great game to play with friends. It did not allow me…

On Wednesday, January 18th, I was introduced to my On-Campus Leadership facilitators Marylyn Silverstein and Michael Hargrove. Marylyn introduced herself to the class as a living coordinator in the Jardine complex. She went over what her routinely tasks consist of, what responsibilities she has, and what daily work she must keep up with as a living coordinator. Although, after she got through all the formalities, Marylyn began to feel more relaxed and talk more about her personal life. For one, Marylyn adores cats. She has a passion for traveling and indulging in new cultures and traditions. Marylyn loves her job as a living coordinator because she can meet different people with a diverse set of backgrounds. The other facilitator, Michael also…

It was a rainy Sunday morning back in February, and there was an open group available that took place at George Mason University, locating in Nguyen Engineering Building, which was convenient for me to travel less distance from my home. They called themselves, “No Name Group,” and I thought they did not come up with a group name yet and left it as an untitled name. Eventually, I figured out that the “No Name” part was actually a real group name. When I arrived at the location of the meeting, there were mostly older people and about one or two young people who were part of the group. Lucky for me, I was not the only one observing the group because there were three other girls that happened to be my…
