It’s My Life is off John Bon Jovi’s band’s, Bon Jovi’s, Crush album. “This song was Bon Jovi’s first release since 1995. John Bon Jovi released a solo album in 1997, but It’s My Life was the first release by the band in five years. It’s My Life was the first single from the album (SongFacts).” This song took the world by storm reaching number one in many countries, including Austria, Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland (SongFacts). It’s My Life was so popular Bon Jovi played at the closing ceremony of the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. The song was also played at the beginning and end of the 2002 NFL season; Bon Jovi preformed it at the pregame festivities of the first game, and then again in the closing ceremony at the Super Bowl (SongFacts). …show more content…
The line "Like Frankie Said, I did it my way" is a reference to Frank Sinatra, who sang "My Way." For Bongiovi it was Frank Sinatra who said to do it “my way” meaning “your way”, but for anybody listening to the song Frank turned into their mom or their friend or anyone who had said to do something “your way”. The line "For Tommy and Gina, who never backed down," is a reference to their 1986 hit "Livin' On A Prayer," which featured Tommy and Gina as young people trying to get by in tough times (SongFacts). To Bon Jovi “Tommy and Gina” is a reference to any person who gives it there all. Bongiovi says he wrote the song for all the people who said he couldn’t act and sing and do everything he wanted (Oprah). Bongiovi says after being cast in the movie u-571 people started saying that he couldn’t be an actor and a singer/song writer, and that is one of the bigger reasons he wrote the song

Have a little Faith, Don’t give up” was quoted by the famous Fantasia Barrino. The quote is simply saying when life gets tough and hard, just keep the faith and go on. Fantasia is important in the music industry because her cousins are the famous K-Ci and JoJo from the group “Jodeci”. She is also important because people thought she wouldn’t be successful because she dropped out of high school and was functionally illiterate. I chose Fantasia because My mother and I love her music and she is also a prime example of a person who didn’t give up no matter what was thrown at her.…

Defeat is the secret ingredient to success.” For me this quote means a lot due to a lot of people trying to do something good for themselves or have a goal and just because they don't accomplish it the first time they think they have fail. If there's something i've learned from my teachers is that “you don't fail when you don't make it or when you don't get there first, you fail when you quit.” So where does my generation find success? My generation finds success in graduating from high school others find it in not getting pregnant in high school. Some might find it in having a lot of money or getting a career and having a family or finding someone worth it of spending their time on. Taking in consideration of how my generation is there’s a lot of ways on how you can find success.…

    Leaving a Legacy of Hope

So many people when asked what it was that drew them to this field would tell me, “I go home every night feeling good about the work I do.” Though this is a genuine and relevant answer to the question, it is not mine. I have always said that it is the people that make this work so special. What makes the population of people that we work with so incredible is that they are not caught up with the everyday way of life that you and I are. It is that freedom from conventions which sets them apart. They are not as worried about the latest fads, trends or fashions. They are people shaped through the years of their lives, filled with experience and wonder that is hard to imagine, let alone understand. They are individual’s not so much worried about “What do you think about me?” as much as, "Do you love me?" Their character and convictions are steadfast, and though they may be hardened to change, their hearts remain soft and tenable. The following essay has been written for these people, with hopes that it would inspire even a single person to take an earnest look at Oregon’s current service models for Seniors and People with Disabilities, and to keep Oregon as a premier model in which other states can continue to look to. What legacy will we leave? What hope will we inspire? My objective is to utilize this essay to answer these questions.…

You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime (“azlyrics”). You may never get a second chance. Eminem sang this song, Lose Yourself, to express that if you’re going to do anything in life, put your all into it (“rapgenius” annotation). The greatest of opportunities don’t show up at your doorstep every day, so make sure that you do everything you can to make the most of any that come your way. It was one of his greatest songs. Eminem is one of the best icons of American rap; however, his life reflected his role as a rapper and singer. Like he said, opportunities only come once in a lifetime and we need to capture it.…

In my life I don't want to spend all my time just trying to "get ahead". I mean I don't want all of my time to be spent working at a job I hate, trying to get promoted, solely for the purpose of money and sacrifice fun and happiness in their life. I am hoping to find a job that I love and I believe that if I do that then in the end everything will work out and I'll be happy with my life. I would rather have fun in life because life is short and I don't want to waste it. This is what the song "In the End" by Linkin Park is about and that is why I chose it.…

    Real Courage

Between me and the athletes there were several more tables, all filled with energetic dancers, thoughtful theater kids, and noisy band members with their instrument cases spread over the table along with the peanut butter sandwiches and bags of carrot sticks. I didn’t feel like I matched any of these groups. At my old school, I was friends with everyone, and we didn’t have to share a hobby in order to have plenty in common. It seemed as though all of these groups shared one specific thing with each other, which I didn’t share with any of them. One day, I noticed someone else sitting like me: quiet and alone in the shade of one of the courtyard’s big pine trees. She was small and brown-haired, reading a book while she munched on an apple she had pulled out of the crumpled paper lunch sack that sat on the ground next to her. Strangely, this girl seemed perfectly happy to sit by herself, and I guessed that was the reason she hadn’t introduced herself to me or asked me to sit with her. When people hear the word courage, most think of soldiers in World War II, firefighters who risked their lives during 911 or even police officers who go to work every day, not knowing if they are going to see their families again. This fact astonished me because so many things in our world today require courage.…
