Abstract In many developing countries unequal land distribution causes significant problems for further development, and titling of landholdings may be very important for people and especially for farmers, but the connection between income and landholdings is not observed in the Indonesian data. I tried to explain why titling of land may be insignificant for income of Indonesians. I developed a risk preferences story and calculated income volatility measure and risk aversion coefficients to provide a possible explanation. Income volatility measure construction was proposed in Shubham Chaudhuri, Jyotsna Jalan, and Asep Suryahadi (2002). To estimate risk aversion coefficients a model was constructed for cross-sectional data under several assumptions. It turned out that income volatility increases when the household becomes titled. The model is supposed to support the idea that it was caused by change in risk preferences of landholders. It can also support the finding that titling of landholdings does not influence monthly income of Indonesian households.

"In the year 2004 12.7% of United States citizens were considered to be living in poverty"1. Then there are the fortunate upper class citizens who have no idea how lucky they actually are. Granted many of the people who are living a privileged life have worked hard for what they have and deserve every bit of it. However what about the young heirs and heiresses we see on the televisions and in the tabloids? Do you really think they deserve what they have? We hear about their so-called problems every week on the news and in magazines. Its true that people with family money such as heirs and heiresses have problems, however they have no idea what struggling truly is until they have lived life in poverty.…

    Wealth vs. Poverty

The existence of poverty is no new news for most of the world. Although the United States in general is not feeling the effects as much as other countries, it is nonetheless becoming a problem. To address the issues of poverty, do we ask who’s to blame, or why it persists? Maybe or maybe not, but theses are two excellent questions to start on a path of understanding poverty. Analysis of a few articles will shed some insight on addressing the matters of poverty, and will give some understanding to steps that society, along with individuals themselves, can take to improve upon the qualities of life. One article, “The Persistence of Poverty”, focuses on just that, the persistence of poverty, and what some of the key factors or behaviors/non-behaviors that cause poverty. Yet another article, “Social Empathy: A Tool to Address the Contradiction of Working But Still Poor”, goes further to…

The key point is that the consumption plan does not depend on the transitory components. To provide empirical content to this hypothesis, Friedman added the assumptions that the transitory components are uncorrelated (i.e interdependent) to each other and uncorrelated (i. e independent) to the permanent component. The Permanent Income Hypothesis assumes the absence any correlation between YP and YT, between CP and CT, or between YT and CT.…
