Importance Of Solar Energy
1) Why is this challenge important to address?
Solar energy is significant in our lives and easy to use because sun is an inexhaustible supply. People are now trying to replace the energy sources with solar energy to keep earth clean and to save money. Solar energy is important in many different areas. Plants and animals use solar energy to continue their lives. Most of their cells need solar energy to produce nutrients. The importance of solar energy increased when people understood that they can convert it to convenient energy. Another fact is, solar energy is a clean energy. By increasing usage of natural renewable sources, environmental harmful sources like oil and coal can be decreased. It does not give any harm to the nature and does …show more content…
Initial Cost: The initial cost of buying and installing solar panels always become the first barrier if the point is Solar Energy . Installing solar panels is too expensive. Although some supports, tax initiatives and rebate incentives are given by government to expand the use of solar panels but we cant take a way for making full and efficient use of solar energy yet. Also, it may take up between 10 years and 15 years before you can wait even with your initial investment. It is not related to your payback period , anything that can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels is worth trying. Our world's sources of energy needs are fossil fuels but they are nonrenewable. However, we need renewable energy sources - it means it should not be limited-because our world has population and economic growth. Solar energy is renewable. Together with renewability, being clean is another benefit. Increase of harmful gases is the reason for greenhouse impact, climate change, and global warming. Solar cells do not release CO2 or SO2. So, the risk of damage to the environment is reduced. In addition to being clean, easy availability is other one. Solar panels do not cause any noise. Installing solar panels are very easy because they do not require any wires or cords unlike wind and geothermal power stations. Also they can be installed on the rooftops which means no new space is needed. Solar cells generally do not require much maintenance for a long time because there are no moving parts. Although, initial costs of solar panels is expensive, there are practically zero recurring costs. Putting solar PV panels on your roof will save you tens of thousands of dollars. Secondly, there are many social benefits of solar energy. Solar energy can prevent wars. Energy dependences of developing countries can be reduced because sunlight is available everywhere on the Earth and no one can go and buy the sun or turn sunlight into a monopoly.
