Importance Of Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood and its Importance For the past year, planned parenthood has been a crucial topic within the United States.
There is so much controversy that comes with planned parenthood and in most cases, people are either for it or against it. It is honestly a shame that people do not understand what planned parenthood is really about and how much help it brings to men and especially women. Planned parenthood is essential for the U.S. because it helps many individuals with advice, screenings, and so many other benefits. This day and age has been revolutionary. As younger people are having sex and experimenting, older men and women see this as a terrible thing and that teens and young adults should not be educated on that. Abstinence

It is not all just about abortions. Unfortunately, that is what people see it as. It is supposed to be a place to go get help and seek medical attention for an affordable price. Of course, the uninformed will ignore the fact that the majority of patients go to planned parenthood primarily for STD tests and contraception (www.plannedparenthood.org). A study was done on what patients went in for. Forty two percent of patients went for STD screenings, thirty four percent went for contraception, eleven percent went for Women’s health services, nine percent went for cancer screenings, three percent went for abortion services, and one percent went for something that was not listed (Michelle Ye Hee Lee, “For Planned
Parenthood abortion stats”). From all the data collected, only three percent of all patients go solely for abortion. Just three percent out of ninety seven. That is not much at all but people will still disregard the fact that planned parenthood is more about everything but

“Instead of Defunding Planned Parenthood, we should be expanding it so that every Women in this country gets the health care she needs.” - Bernie Sanders. Women who are in college or women who are struggling to pay for private health insurance need Planned
Parenthood. “[Planned Parenthood helps] make birth control, abortion, and overall healthcare more affordable for those who can hardly afford a decent meal.” (Foster, “The Importance of
Planned Parenthood”). The politicians are most likely voting against Planned Parenthood because they offer abortion services and that is all they will look at. Well, abortion is good and many women need it. It is not fair that the senate is able to take the clinics away and the women who need them have to face the consequences. Men make up the majority of the senate and men are the majority when it comes to politicians in the U.S. (“United States Congress Quick Facts”). Men are basically telling Women that they do not have any rights when it comes to what they want to do with their bodies and that is not fair. Men cannot relate to these women and they never will. It is probably hard enough to have to go make the decision of going through with an

Planned Parenthood has been in the makings since 1916. The organization started out as a health clinic that offered free birth control to women. It continued to progress over the years until 1942 the organization, which was called Little Rock Birth Control Clinic at the time, changed to Planned Parenthood. The organization still goes by this name to this day. Although the organization offers much more than just free birth control to women. In fact, in recent times the organization has become the center of attention for many groups of people because of one of their most popular services; abortion. Most people see abortion as an equivalent to murder. Many people claim that if a woman did not want to have a baby she should not have participated…

    Planned Parenthood Summary

Planned Parenthood itself isn’t necessarily the problem, but the people that oppose it. Christian Policy Analysist, Sarah Torre, has many things to say on the issue of Planned Parenthood, although she doesn’t necessarily try to see it from a side other than hers. While reflecting upon rumors about Planned Parenthood selling tissue and body parts of unborn babies, Torre presents that government funding needs to be cut entirely from the organization. She supports her argument by making claims such as Planned Parenthood has enough money, and that there are enough other places for women to get the care and services provided there. Being the leading abortion provider in the US is the authors top reason, however, for prompting her “defund Planned Parenthood” campaign, even though abortions only make up about 3% of all services provided. She claims it is immoral for taxpayers, especially those who are against abortion, to be required to pay for an affiliation that provides the very thing they are so much against. The fact seems to be forgotten that although not everybody believes that healthcare, such as programs provided by the Affordable Care Act, are not approved or liked by everyone. Even so, everybody has to pay taxes that fund these programs, and really how is it different from taxpayers money going to Planned Parenthood? Although she is a woman, Torre seems to have forgotten the battles waged in order for women to have free reign of their own bodies, including the right to choose whether or not they should abort a baby that is unwanted. American’s in general need to realize that women should not be dictated by men, or other women for that matter, no matter where they are coming from. Opinions are not always wanted, and just because someone believes something does not make it right for them to force their beliefs onto other people. Americans need to have…

Although Planned Parenthood will never say so directly, they often do not tell patients all necessary information. Women are often pushed into the procedure without being provided information on the health risks that can come with abortion. As well, as that they are terminating a human life (SOURCE 3). Planned Parenthood will never admit to terminating another person’s life, because they overlook that a fetus is living. However, add something about fetus being alive. A mother terminating her own child, the exact opposite of how a mother should act (SOURCE 3). It is a mother’s instinct to protect and take care of her child. By aborting the child, the mother is doing the opposite. Add something about PP persuading. The Federal Government should not be funding and supporting a company that persuades mothers to deny their motherly instinct and terminate their child’s…

Planned parenthood is more than an abortion clinic. An article called "Defunding Planned Parenthood-The Pros and Cons Prove a Danger to Women" is about how the federal might not give them anymore funding. This article explains how they might take all the funding out of planned parenthood. This is important because they need the funding to help out families that need good health care. Planned parenthood has provided more for patients than abortions. People at the age of 20 or more go to Planned Parenthood…

For my research and message planning assignment, I chose to look further into Planned Parenthood as a non-profit organization. Planned Parenthood is an organization that has been around for over 100 years, as it was founded in October of 1916. Some of the many resources that are offered at these facilities are free or cheap access to women’s reproductive health- including papsmears, mammograms, and STD checks. Other services offered are access to abortion and contraception for all women; this is where the negative perception comes into play. It’s been a long and ongoing battle with separation of church and state, but somehow the the morality issues still play such a damaging role in the perception of what Planned Parenthood is really providing.…

When people think of reproductive health care centers their mind automatically jumps to the name Planned Parenthood. Since its founding in 1916 by Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood has amounted to a number of people rallying both for and against them. The fight for Planned Parenthood has never completely been resolved, and even now the issue of federally- funding Planned Parenthood is an issue discussed at large when deciding who to elect to represent our country for the next four to eight years. People advocating for the funding of Planned Parenthood by the federal government are doing something that is rightfully so. It should not be an issue whether or not Planned Parenthood should be funded or not. The question that asks whether it should…

It didn’t occur to me that these people were here to oppose Planned Parenthood, not for what they stood for, but because they decided to give women the choice over their own bodies. Less than a year before, I joined planned parenthood in a youth program to teach comprehensive sexual education in my surrounding area. This included things from anatomy, to contraception, all the way to the dynamics of a healthy relationship. This had opened my eyes to all the good that Planned Parenthood does, and is what brought me to volunteer. All of the thoughts of all of the good that Planned Parenthood does filled my head as I opened the door to greet the first terrified woman. She stepped out of her car, introduced herself, and we proceeded towards the clinic. Lucy, the first woman to enter the clinic, was five months pregnant and was there to hopefully find out the sex of her new child. Unfortunately, the people waiting outside the clinic didn’t know that. They were under the assumption that Lucy was at the clinic in order to abort her unborn child, and they were determined to convince her to change her mind. Between the shouts of the protesters I did my best to calm Lucy, to no avail. As we neared the door, I could feel the pure fear that surged through Lucy as the “peaceful” bystanders yelled things like “ Woman regret killing their baby ma’am, don’t…

Most prominently, PPFA clinics offer affordable birth control, Pap smears for screening cervical cancer, life-saving abortions, breast exams, and STD tests to women, men, and young people alike. In the 100 years since nurse Margaret Sanger created the organization, the growth and expansion of Planned Parenthood, originally called the American Birth Control League, is testament to thes success and growing need for accessible reproductive health services in the United States (Alter). The organization has become practically ubiquitous as, following the current trend, 1 in every 5 American women will utilize the services offered by Planned Parenthood at some point in her life (Ernst). This is possible, according to the official PPFA website, through “56 independent local affiliates and 650 clinics currently in operation around the country to provide access to quality healthcare and educational services” (“Planned Parenthood at a Glance”). These clinics should receive government funding in order to continue serving the fundamental health care needs of the people, the same mission the organization has upheld since its founding in the…

"Call now and you can ...", "For less than ten cents a day ...", "Come and show your support by ...", do any of these popular attempts at getting consumers to support organizations sound familiar? They should, because many non-profit organizations will use these slogans to get consumers to not only donate money, but also time and sponsorship. The National Right to Life Committee is no exception to this type of soliciting. The National Right to Life Committee tries to appeal to most Americans who are pro-life or pro-choice, utilize "non-traditional" support methods, continue to gain support even through these economic times, and use all the elements, mostly pathos, to persuade consumers to support the fight against abortions.…
