GENERAL RULES OF THUMB: Topics should last approximately 1 hour, or 1-1/4 hours. So, for example, a 4 hour program would have no more than 4 topics. A full-day program would include from 6 to 8 topics and would need to accommodate break times. Two-day programs would include more, depending on the format chosen. Individual speakers often work well for introductory material. Panels of 2 or 3 persons usually work well for intermediate to advanced programs.
