If I Won the Lottery
If I won the lottery this would be the best feeling ever but it may also be very challenging as well. Winning the lottery would change everything completely. It would change the way I look, walk, and even talk. If I won the lottery the challenges that I know I would face are my friends becoming my enemies, I wouldn’t be able to receive no benefits or help from the state, and materialistic things that I would not need in my life. First, my friends becoming my enemies because your friends will expect to receive an amount that they know that they are not worthy to but they will expect it because you are their friend. Your friends may try to get you to do things you wouldn’t have done and if you don’t do it then they gets mad at you. If you don’t do some of the things your friends want you to do, they will turn their backs on you and criticize you about things in your past because they are trying to make you look bad because you have money now. Secondly, I wouldn’t be able to receive any more benefits or help from the state such as welfare, food stamps, or Medicaid. Where I am from all assistant that you receive from the state depends on your income that you receive. Just because you receive a little blessing or a boost from somewhere doesn’t mean that you no longer need the assistant. Third, getting involved with materialistic things that I do not need will be one of the biggest challenges I think I would see when or if I win the lottery because it’s going to be a lot of wants and not needs. A lot of materialistic things such as cars, clothes, rims, and trucks, and a lot more of unneeded things that could possibly wait if I won the lottery getting sidetracked by materialistic things will put you in the biggest challenge in my life. In conclusion, friends becoming enemies, receiving no more needed benefits from the states, and getting involved with materialistic things will be the biggest challenges I would face if

Can winning a lottery be the ideal thing that could happen in one day? The short story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson is all contrary. This story starts of as a pleasant, beautiful summer day in a small village. Where the children are picking up and accumulating rocks, the women are gossiping and the men are telling jokes. A beautiful day to play the lottery, right? However, this is not a lottery you want to win. Two characters that impacted me the most from this short story are the Mr.Warner and Tessie Hutchinson.…

A lottery can be held every year based on someone beliefs, culture and tradition. If someone was raised a certain way and that’s all they know, then they don’t see anything wrong with. On the other hand it also had to do with a lack of knowledge, because they do not realize that there things to enhance a harvest. A modern day lottery would be like an election and voting to my beliefs. Every four years there’s a presidential campaign and who we vote for can affect our lives. The behavior is ridiculous, but history repeats itself. Even today some people are crazy. Some people adapt to other people behavior, but I would have to remove myself from the person presence.…

The Lottery started with a simple approach and an easygoing attitude. Towards the end, it makes me think what our life would be like if a tradition as if that still exists. It is hard to understand or even imagine traditions like that. It opens your eyes to a different view of beliefs or traditions that are out there without our knowledge. Even though, it is pass down from generations after generations to the next they are still willing to accept without a question. “The lottery is an extreme example of what can happen when traditions are not questioned or addressed critically by new generations” (SparksNotes).…

    If I Could Vote

    • 773 Words

If I could vote, I would vote for Barack Obama. I like his views on mostly all the political topics. I think that he has tried so hard to make our country a better place for everyone living here. Many people complain that our country is in debt because of him and the economy has dropped dramatically. I think that those people don’t look at the positive things that Obama has done. Also, In order for something good to happen, there has to be something negative that comes out of it. I think that if Obama wins a second term, many good things will come to our country and a lot of things will change. My view has only made me want Obama to win even more throughout this campaign. Just hearing all the things that Romney has been saying, and just the way he is, makes me want Obama to win even more. I feel like since the first debate, I thought Romney was too full of himself and rude. I don’t want someone like that in charge of the country I live in. I think that Obama will win this election. One reason why is because the United States is a country full of immigrants from different countries and Obama is trying to help these immigrants and allowing them to have jobs and get an education like regular people. Romney, on the other hand, wants all the immigrants out and wants to build a border fence. I don’t think that’s fair at all because this country is made up of immigrants and people from different cultures and countries and Romney just wants to take all of that away. Another thing I like about Obama is how he likes to help middle-class and lower-class families. From my view of Romney, I feel like he worries more about the higher-class people, in other words, rich people. Again, I don’t think that that’s the right way to go as a President. Mitt Romney just has a lot of ways to take over our country that I don’t like or agree with. The issues that are most important to me are Education, Jobs, Economy and Role of Government. Obama meets all of MY requirements for all those…

Admit it, all of us must have imagined, at least once, of being able to fly, to have super-strength, superhuman speed, or any kind of skill nobody else have. Whether you are an innocent little kid or a grown-up, having superpowers is always something we wish we could have. Imagine you can teleport, travel in time, communicate with people telepathically, or be invisible. Why got caught in traffic jams if we can fly? Why have hard times with your pet if you understand animal languages? Why go to hospital if you have power of instant-healing? Every day of your life will never be tedious. And who would not be astonished of seeing you having superpowers? You will be the spotlight to appear on TV whom everybody adores. Your portrait will always appear on the front of the newspapers and magazines. Who would refuse to have such a perfect life? If I could have superpowers, I will certainly choose many powers to own, including mind control, time travel, and invisibility.…
