Identify the Key Aspects of Current Legislative Requirements and Codes of Practice Relevant to Your Subject and the Type of Organisation Within Which You Would Like to Work
“Why I Want to do the Course”

Recently I have many changes in my life, and I’m very happy to have it. Also I became more socialising for the last year and got better with English, which are very important reasons to start the course.
I believe, I’ve got some other important reasons and intending to embark on the course.
Firstly, I keen to proceed with my psychotherapy studying, which has been started in Russia in 1999. I was studying Dance Movement Therapy in the Moscow Institute of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis for two years as my 3-years Postgraduate Diploma course. That’s shame, I haven’t finished the last year as I moved to England. I’m really interesting to study Person Centred Approach as I saw the big difference between Psychodynamic approach and Counselling, when I’ve done my Level 2 ABC Certificate in Counselling Concepts. Secondly, I want to do this course to get new skills in Counselling and also to manage my own feelings, relationship, and to know more about myself. And finally, I would like to socialise with people who share my interests.
I think my current strengths in the role of “helper” are my willing to help others, counselling knowledge such as empathy, unconditional positive regard, etc. What I would like to work towards in myself are tolerance and self-expressing.
This Certificate in Counselling Skills course seems to be much more intensive then Certificate in Counselling Concepts and it will be enriched with more homework and academic writing than before. Currently I am fulltime mum and time commitments of the course relate to my family, especially to my little daughter, who starts the school in September. I realise that when I‘ll start the course I will be busy with my homework, and at the same time need to look after children and share my time with family too, who also seek my attention.
I fully understand that the course may be emotionally demanding, as I’ve attended such kind of courses before. Often it

My first reason is that I wanted to see if college. I say this because college is not for everybody. I have seen an overwhelming amount of people go to college and drop out. For an example, in my family, on my mother’s side, my aunties and uncles decided not to go to college. On the other hand, my family, on my father’s side, went to college and did not get a job based on what they majored in or went to college, but dropped out. So, me being, I wanted to know why did they go to college and drop out. Then, I started comparing their lifestyles together. In result, I started talking to people that went to college to see how it is. This brings me to my second reason.…

Within this assignment I will explore the ways in which I relate to others. I will identify any barriers or difficulties which could affect my ability to relate to others and therefore have an adverse effect on my role as a helper. Egan (1994) states that to be a fully developed helper, a key component is self awareness. He also suggests that there can be a “shadow side” to helping, which can adversely affect the outcome of the helping process.…

When enrolling into a new class, it is normal to have expectations. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I understand that the upcoming semester will provide many challenges I will have to face. I am excited to see how I will grow academically over the course of the semester. I find myself eager about learning new things and refreshing my knowledge on things I have forgotten. It has been a long time since I have studied the growth and development of humans. I have strengths to bring to this class as well as weaknesses that I plan to work on during this class. By the end of this course I expect to be able to apply what I learn in counseling and become a better writer. While this class will be more stimulating than what I have been used to I hope that with the help of my classmates and my professor I can make this class a positive learning experience.…

On March 15, 2012, I landed in Vladivostok, Russia. I was amazed by the diversity and fast growth of the city since my last visit in 2006. Everything has changed the population has quickly grown, and people from around the world are visiting this place that is economically expanding. I seen family, friends, and professionals, which all knew my academic intentions. I talked a lot about social work and counseling, and more specifically: what would they do in times of crisis? Would they seek help? Where? I interviewed a few people in different generational categories, and they all had the same thing to say, for some odd reason; grab a bottle, head over to your best friends house, that is our therapy session! Therefore my questions all sprouted from one underdeveloped and not heavily researched topic: the role of psychotherapy/counseling in Russia.…
