I Want To Pursue A Career In Physical Therapy
Stress is “the nonspecific response of the body to any demand for change” or a response to events that threaten or challenges a person in their day to day life. Stress can be good or bad. Sometimes, stress is helpful, providing people with the extra energy or alertness they need. For example, stress can give a runner the edge they need to finish a marathon, this would be an example of good stress, called eustress. unfortunately, there is also bad stress, called distress, (i.e losing a loved one, heavy workload, divorce). But, when this type of distress prolongs it can become chronic.

My career goal is to become a physical therapist, and I would like to either work in pediatrics or sports therapy, but I am constantly unsure if i’m going down the right path or if the path that I have chosen is right for me, because fashion was my passion and I wanted to become a fashion buyer, but I got accepted to LIU, which I took that as a sign, to pursue a career in the medical field. This stresses me out because I’m pursuing a career that’s practical compared to doing something I’m passionate about, also, college is expensive, the work is very challenging and so far each year; I get even more discourage than the last and I want to give up, sometimes. I would do the opposite, and make the, already stressful situation worse by getting angry, or upset (emotional arousal). Only, recently, I noticed how much I work myself up over certain life situations that happen and how quickly, I would label the situation as negative, or bad, instead of seeing the brighter side of the situation. For example, my stressful situation my career/future, I shouldn't see it as a state of uncertainty of confusion, based on one factor, which is the difficult science courses, but, see it as a learning lesson and to try different studying techniques, and find the one that works best for me. Moreover, I need to practice the cognitive appraisal level roadblock more and whenever that doesn’t work try, the emotional arousal level roadblock, which I practice a lot lately, whenever i’m faced with a stressful

    My career aspiration is to become a physical therapist. I am going go to school for (PTA) physical therapist assistant. I chose PTA because, I like to help people. What started my interest for going into physical therapy was having to help my great grandma, that my mom took care of. My Grandma had alzheimer's and dementia; she lived till she was 83.
