Humorous Wedding Speech: How Miguel Cabrera Changed My Life
INTRO: As most of you guys know, I really enjoy statistics so when Miguel Cabrera won the Triple Crown this year, I instantly knew what I was going to inform you guys about. What makes this even better is that I have been a tigers fan all my life and he is my favorite baseball player of all time. With made his season really incredible in my eyes is that he changed positions to 3B before the season to welcome his good friend from Milwaulkee, Prince Fielder.

FIRST SLIDE: Explain them and how this year he has only beat his other year’s statistics in 3 of the 5 categories.

SECOND SLIDE: How close it was in each stat. * Home Runs: Granderson/Hamilton needed just 2 more HRs out of their 596/562 ABs * RBIswas the frathest stat away.

Both of the authors from these essays struggled when they first come to America. Each of them had their own struggles with adjusting to the American culture, but they also had a lot of things in common as well. Tony Nunez really had a difficult time with not only speaking the English language but also understanding her teacher and peers. Tony had to come to school earlier than any of her friends for extra help with English. Often times, she felt embarrassed in front of her peers because she did not understand the American jokes or the assemblies. Tony often said that her struggles were different from Elizabeth's because Tony was an immigrant, and Elizabeth was a native of the U.S. Elizabeth struggled with not wanting to learn the Chinese…

On this speech critique, the person that I had the pleasure to critique was Javier Garcia with his speech on “What Is Engineering?” Throughout this speech critique report, I’m going to explain some of the sections that Javier covered very well and some of the sections that he needs improvement in. Also, with an explanation of why I gave him a certain score in a section and advice on how to improve upon it. I’m going to start off with the first section, out of the three, involved with the speech evaluation form.…

Do you ever flip through the channels and land on ESPN, as they are showing the highlights of the game, as a baseball travels 390 feet and over the wall. This is called a home-run. In this speech I will inform you about Matthew Ryan Kemp, his career, his personal life, his statistics, and his contributions to the community. I am contacting you to inform you of some issues that have I have been concerned with when it comes to Kami and her performance on the JV cheer team. First and foremost, I just want to let you know that it has been a pleasure working with Kami on our team. Kami brings a very energetic and infectious vibe to our team. She has grown tremendously as an individual and as an athlete. However, lately, it is that same energetic and infectious behavior that has become a distraction for the team, especially during our practices. Today, Kami and her team had to run three laps because she was laughing and talking during stunts. As you know as a longtime cheer parent, stunting is a time that has to be taken seriously, otherwise there is the potential for…

Brandon works hard and tries to do everything anyone says he can't, since the age of four, brandon has done anything he can to make it as a professional baseball player. That's enough talking about myself in the third person, as long as i can remember, i've always dreamed about playing baseball day-in and day- out as what most would call a “job”. I learned along the way that this game is a lot like life, it can pick you up and knock you down just as quick, in the words of Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard “Baseball has a way of ripping your heart out, stabbing it, putting it back in your chest, then healing itself just in time for Spring Training”.…

My grandmother play one of the must important roles in my life. She have been with me since the first day of my life when I was born. She is a mother of 5 children, my 3 ankles, my aunt and my mother. Through her life she have always to put on us all the good values of our culture. She have been a strong mother who worked all her life to give her 5 children a better life than what she had. While an interview I did with her, she spoke to me about her mother, my great grandmother who died 8 years ago at age of 102 years old. She told me a little bit of her lives as children, they were 15 brothers and sister and always lived together till each one of them got marry and move to their own lives. Today there is only 7 of the left. While in this interview I asked my grandmother about the government during her childhood, she spoke to me about Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, a dictator who controlled The Dominican Republic for about 31 years. She told me how cruel he was and how strict everything was during that time “ Nuestras vidas eran como un infierno” (life was like hell), she described how this man always got what e wanted to get not matter what or who it was, “fue el tiempo mas duro que vivimos en Rep Dom nadie tenia control de nada solo el, “el chivo” ” ( this was the hardest time we lived in the Dom Rep nobody had control of anything but him, “The goat”).…

My ancestors came in my country of America in chains. Take a look at me now. One more look. Once again perhaps. I see Barack almost everyday, praying as a Muslim in the Oval Office and around the Beautiful House. Also, all the years we have knowing each other, he has been praying as a Christian as I am. I could not be more proud to say, if any Muslim or Christian leader in our wonderful nation, the United States of America, or around the world can run his or her country like he has been running for almost a decade, we will all be living with the Angels in heaven on Earth. But it wasn't easy, look at his gray hair. What we inherited first day we walked in until tonight, it sure wasn't easy. Forget about the odds that were against us, excluding for Oprah. Godly souls always have been showing themselves among their own kind in a gathering dropping…

When I first began oral communications, the speech I was most excited to give was the interview speech. This is because I knew exactly who I wanted to do and that it would be interesting to get to ask him about his life. In my last speech, I had some struggles and didn’t perform in a way that I strive for. This motivated me to practice my skills more and get better. Just this past week I decided I would give the sport of wrestling a shot. In the past, I have participated in basketball. Since I’m one of the shorter kids in my class I thought I should give up this sport and try something new. Into my first week of wrestling I picked up a quote that’s left a deep affect on me. Coach Allen told us a quote by Winston Churchill that says, “Failure isn’t fatal, and success isn’t final.” This quote says a lot about my personal experience and interview…
