At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to: 1. Define anthropogenic impact and cite its effect in our environment; 2. Identify factors that contribute to anthropogenic impact on our environment; and 3. Appreciate the earth’s natural resources by improving their impact to the environment. II. Subject matter: * Anthropogenic impact on the environment and its socio-cultural factors. * Resources: Wikipedia.com; Fundamentals of Environmental Science by Tayo, et.al, pp.55-58 * Materials: Visual aids (enlarged pictures, cartolina strips, Manila paper, PowerPoint presentation), projector, laptop. III. Procedures: a. Routinary activities 1. Prayer 2. Checking of cleanliness and orderliness 3. Checking of attendance b. Drill * Cite different natural resources in the Philippines and its importance. c. Review 1. What are the major types of ecosystem? 2. What are the three major types of terrestrial ecosystem? 3. Give an example of a freshwater ecosystem. 4. Differentiate freshwater from marine types of ecosystem. 5. Cite at least 2 marine ecosystems. d. Motivation
You are the first learned inhabitant of the earth: what will you do? a. Leave earth as it is and use nomadic ways to live. b. Invent as many things as you can and see the downfall of the only livable planet. e. Presentation
There will be a video presentation about the current state of the earth with regards to its physical features, level of destruction, and ways on how people cope with change. f. Discussion * What is anthropogenic impact and how does it affects our environment? * What are the socio-cultural factors that contribute to anthropogenic impact? * What are the ways to lessen the harmful effects of anthropocene?
