How I Would Like to Be Remembered...
A Desired Legacy Throughout life, you will meet many different people. Some will forget about you, others will think about you every now and then. Then there are other people that you will be friends with forever. I don’t want to be one of those people that you forget about after high school. I would like everyone to think of me as being an honest person with good morals. However, I think that people perceive me to be someone who is shy, and gets good grades in school. I would like to be seen as someone who truly cares about everyone, young and old; the type of person that makes a difference in others’ lives, and makes a difference in my own life as well. For this reason, I do not want to be judged as to what I look like, or how people perceive me to be. I want to be judged as one of those kids who are kind to others and a good listener. I want people to know that I will stand up for what I believe in. I want them to know that I always try to do my best to accomplish my goals, no matter how much hard work it takes. I always strive for a feeling of accomplishment, no matter the circumstance or how far away the goal seems to be. I hope that I will be able to leave a positive imprint on people. The biggest tribute to me would be that someone would remember me as being a nice, thoughtful

I spent years trying to be perfect, and if not perfectly perfect then at least seemingly perfect. I tried to be the person who always had a big smile, something wise to say and a positive outlook. I spent high school finding friends that I knew would help me become a better person. I got involved in countless activities and truly enjoyed every moment volunteering, participating and leading the organizations I belonged to. I tried to keep my cool at all costs, promising myself I would handle personal problems outside the eye of my peers. But, there was always one thing that broke my “image”, one thing that became my kryptonite.…

    The Way We See Me

It is so interesting to read the different perceptions that my friends and husband see of me. For example, my husband had very similar results to mine because he lives with me and sees me everyday. He has known me for ten years now and it is reassuring that he knows me so well. The only thing that we both seem to entirely disagree on is how imaginative I am. He believes that I am only slightly as I think that I am extremely. I believe this is because my husband is a big talker and he likes to verbally express his ideas where I would rather put them down on paper. As for my two friends opinions, they are slightly different. The two of my friends are actually a couple who lives together. The one I have know for ten years, where as the other I’ve only know for two. Both seem to agree that I am not at all selfish but also extremely considerate of others. This makes me feel good, as I have stated previously that I always try to treat people with the utmost respect that I would want from others.…

As a socially responsible community member I am compassionate and caring and respect my neighbors. I do my part to lend a helping hand whether it is acknowledged or not. I do my best to volunteer when I can, donate money or resources for a cause and actively work hard at being a good person. I take the time out of my life to make time for someone else or to give back to those that have done so much for the community. My family and friends are a top priority in my life, so I take the time to welcome new faces in the neighborhood, as well as keeping in touch with and caring for those that have lived in the…

Throughout high school I was able to develop many skills pertaining to the social aspects of college, which have really helped me. Growing up, I’ve been fortunate enough to live in a two parent, middle class home. I have never experienced death of a family member or someone close to me. I have been so lucky to have such a wonderful life. Once I started going to leadership camps, meeting kids who have had such difficulties in their lives I realized not everyone’s lives are as happy-go-lucky as mine. This has taught me to treat every individual I meet in college with compassion and kindness, as you never know what kind of life they’ve had. No one should be judged by his or her social class, friend group, how they dress, or come off in public settings. Each person has experienced some hardship in their life and thus everyone deserves their chance to show a person who they truly are. Using this mindset I have been able to make many friends in organizations such as the President’s Leadership Class in which I wouldn’t have typically met them. This predetermined view of the world has helped me graciously in college.…

When someone looks at me, they see one thing; I see another. In my mind I want to help people, but in a way that is behind the scenes and not the whole world knows about. They see a shy little girl, but I see a girl who wants to change the world. Although, it may be a little complicated for me change the world when I do not exactly have the best motivation. I have insecurities that may or may not always show on the outside, and anxiety that overtakes my mind when exciting or scaring events take place.…

Three things my parents have taught me to value are our integrity, hard work, and love. I choose to live with integrity because that’s what my parents have taught me. If I didn’t have the integrity I inherited from them, I do not think I would be a successful student. Because I have integrity I choose not to cheat, or be dishonest with my professors. My parents have also taught me to value hard work. One thing I will say that I love about myself is my work ethic. I work extremely hard which is why I am successful at pretty much everything I do. I always want to be the hardest working person in the room, whether it’s the hardest working student, employee, daughter, or volunteer. Lastly, my parents have taught me to love everyone equally. This helps me in college because when I see students who are alone, I’m not afraid to conversant with…

    Personal Ethics Statement

    • 398 Words

When I start it attending this class I did not have a clue what personal ethics meant, but now after the nine weeks of me attending this class I have learned a lot of new things like the meaning of personal ethics. Now I know that personal ethics is the way in which you do and look at things, in other words it is what you live by and who you are as person and what kind of person you want or would be like. I consider myself a very responsible person for the age of 19. I think I became responsible a little faster than others my age because I started working since I was only 14 years old. I think that when people get their first job they change a little and start becoming more responsible. I consider myself a very strong person. To me being strong doesn’t mean that I can take everything that happens to me. I have had my share of bad times in life but I never let them make me be unhappy I always try to stay strong. I also consider myself a very helpful person. I always try to find a way to help others, but at the same time when I do that I always make sure that I am doing the right thing. What I mean by that is that, I always make sure that if someone needs my help I know that they really needed and that they are not just taking advantage of my kindness. Of course the people I always try to be with and help is my family. My family is a huge part of my life; they come first, before everything and anything. What I am trying to say about myself is that the “Ethical Lenses” I preferred to use the most are the “Responsibilities” and the “Relationship” lenses. One of my weaknesses is that I can get really distracted with the “Responsibilities” lens and for a while forget about friends and family because I am trying to work too hard. Ethics play a big part of your life every day you have to be really careful with the way you act with other and with yourself. It is not good to be a person that…

This one was harder for me to actually see in my life, but after some contemplating I finally realized it is perfect when concerning my personal relationships. I am always trying to help others, no matter the cost to myself. No matter what it is someone needs help with (homework, relationship advice, etc…) I am always willing to help. I would rather have others benefit over something than myself. I believe that this is one reason I am supposed to become a teacher. After all, what better way is there to help children than to teach them? Humanity needs to believe in themselves and each other more in order to achieve anything. I will always believe anyone can achieve anything they put their mind to; more people need to have this…
