How To Write An Essay About My Pfo Dance Experience
This year, I had the privilege to be in the Dance Experience. I quit dancing five years ago, because I never really liked those in my classes, yet I always found myself moving around and doing all the movements for fun. During my PFO dance experience, I got to build better relationships with people in my experience, rediscover my love for dance (not necessarily my talent), and learn more about myself in the process.

Our final dress rehearsal was the day of our performance. During our run of the show, we went all the way through our RAIN piece without messing up and nailing the ending. I felt a great sense of accomplishment and harmony with my fellow dancers. We had created such a complicated routine from just the mission statement and stories

The focus of the short story “Dancer” by Vickie Sears is the positive progression of the main character, Clarissa, a foster child who gains a sense of her cultural identity as a Native. In the beginning of the story, she is introduced as a child with next to nothing and is portrayed to have psychopathic traits. Towards the end of the story, there are positive changes in her character. The main factor that led to Clarissa’s progression was her developing a strong interest in the powwow that led her to gain a sense of being a part of a family, knowledge about the community, and a better understanding of her history and culture.…

The poem, Limbo, by Edward Kamau focuses on the West Indian dance and how people only see it as a dance and not a historic symbol with an emotional connection to it. Based on one’s culture, not all people will interpret things the same way. In this case, not everybody will view the limbo dance as a symbolic dance with lots of history behind it because of where, when, and how people were raised. Their culture doesn’t view it any different than just a dance. To Edward Kamau’s culture, the limbo dance symbolizes the transatlantic trip that African slaves had to go through to get the West Indian lands through a ship.…

After many weeks of rehearsals, Opening Night finally arrived, and I was checked out of school early for hair and makeup and was all ready to dance my heart out. I really enjoyed reading your essay and I could identify myself in many points there. I was also a very shy girl and I used to love dance! I didn't go so far as you in my dance classes, but it is very interesting the way you describe how you were able to communicate through the dance everything you couldn't through the words. you really touched me with your essay as I could picture myself as that little girl. I just think you could make you argument a little more clear for readers that don't have the same degree of identification as me and you could include also a little more censorial description to get the readers more involved about the importance of dancing in your life and what kind of sensations dancing used to bring to you. Overall,…

As I went out onto the stage, the bright lights hurt my eyes. My hands were sweating and the music for our lyrical started to play. For this dance I felt free. I knew all the moves and they just flowed out of me as I continued to dance. I did not even think about the people in the crowd as I looked to the back of the auditorium. With every breath another second went by, and before I knew it I made my last move and left the stage. I thought “first dance down only two more to go,” as I quickly got ready for the next dance.…

The dancing went on for what seemed like hours, in the eyes of anxious teenagers. Finally, the awards started. Trophies were given out to different bands, orchestras, and show choirs. Lastly it was time for chorus. The announcer gave ratings to each group, and when it came time for us, I felt my heart rate speed up.…

Upon joining my sorority earlier this semester I never would have thought I would be dancing and making a fool out of myself in front of hundreds of people on Green Street. Here I was though on November 1st, after practicing for at most three days with the other girls and Hockey team, ready to get on stage. My grand big is a dance major so she convinced me to join the Spurs and Struts team because they did not have enough people and I have a hard time saying no. This performance ended up being one of the scariest, but most fun experiences I have ever had. During Spurs and Struts I had lost my dance partner last minute so I had to dance a part alone. Also, I could not grab my rally towel that was tucked in my leggings so that was embarrassing…

Ever since I was young I remember dance always being one of those things that was always there when I needed it. Everyday I looked forward to going to class and working hard, doing my best to get better everyday. I officially started dancing when I was three, however, it wasn’t until I got to the age of around 10 or 11. This was about a year after I moved to Kansas City and when I just started going to the Kansas City Ballet. The whole experience changed my point of view completely over not just dance but ballet to. I would definitely not be where I am today if it wasn’t for moving to KCB.…

I truly hated the end of the school year. I never really enjoyed my previous summers. I constantly sat at home, did not go anywhere or do anything. The summer of 2017 was different. No one, would have expected that four hours once or twice a week in an auditorium would be that special. The rehearsals connected each of us, brought us together, and the only thing left was one final night to enjoy the connections we had created. Just a few amazing people around a fire, but it was enough to see the true enjoyment that everyone had expressed about summer.…

There’s something about dancers I have always been in love with. I’m not quite sure what it is. Maybe it’s how dancers are so driven to perfect their technique. Or maybe it’s how they have so much passion, emotion, and character in their movements without having to say a word. Those were the thoughts going through my mind when I went to go see my first ballet. It was only a few years ago and I still can remember how excited I was before watching it, during, and after.…

The practice days were done and the night of the prom came. I can say that our practices paid off because we were able to dance the cotillion with only a few mistakes. Then the open- stage dance part came and all of the people gathered in the center and danced. I was quite sure of myself that I would spend almost all of the night sitting in a chair. But…
