United States 517 U.S. 806 (1996) the police approached a car that broke a traffic violation and saw cocaine in plain view. Police were found to be right in arresting the individuals. This relates to this case because like the cocaine, the cigarette burns are in plain view when they invited into the residents. Although there is no direct evidence that Joe’s cigarettes were the cause of Sam’s abuse, it is a logical presumption to conclude since he was the one possessing the Marlboros.…

On Thursday, June 9, 2016 at around 8:00 pm, I, Sergeant Bever was patrolling the College Park neighborhood area. I observed several vehicles at the Pure Gas Station located at 2218 Ladnier Rd and some were playing music loud enough that could be heard over 100 feet away. I pulled into the parking lot of the gas station to address this and witnessed a black male nervously walk away from a white Lincoln Town Car parked in front of the business. A Mississippi antique tag (200664) was displayed on the Town Car and was ran through NCIC. The tag came back to a 1978 Red Buick car and registered to Joseph or Orquidea Harris of 11499 Acorn Dr, Gulfport, MS 39503. I then pulled into the car wash next to the gas station and waited for the driver to return and leave so I could conduct a traffic stop for having a switched tag.…

There are key questions that an attorney has to ask the officers. These questions include the time of the arrest, involvement of an undercover agent, issuance of a search warrant, any involvement of money, and the statement made by the client. The case usually gets complicated especially when there are other persons arrested. The user may make a statement denying ownership of the drugs discovered and seized at the scene. He/She may point the ownership to his codefendant which then, of course, the codefendant's statement will have to be taken. Such cases can be settled within a short time if the statements given correspond to each other. These cases can take a much longer time if statements of the people involved are conflicting, as that would mean further investigations would have to be conducted.…
