How Samsung Became the World’s No. 1 Smartphone Maker
Accompanied by three (3) Samsung Electronic PR, we are heading toward Yongin City where Samsung Human Resources Development Center is located. It is 45 minutes drive south of Seoul. The complex with 50,000 employees is known as Changjo Kwon which means Creativity Institute. In this complex the employees are inculcated with three P’s (Product, Process, and People) example global management, teamwork and Korean culture. Since Lee Kun Hee became Chairman in 1987, the Company becomes the world largest Electronic Company by revenue.Samsung brand not only knows with TV, and washing machines but at presence feel worldwide by its Smartphone
Samsung Electronics is the largest part of Samsung where its employees 370,000 people in more than 80 countries and contributes 17% South Korean GDP. In fact Samsung itself involves in many business activities worldwide such as property Development, Contractions, Heavy Industries, textiles, hotels, apartment and insurances.

Some analyst comments, successful of their conglomerate are due to the styles of managements with similar military organization. Top management decision must be followed without hesitations of the work you quit the organization.
Samsung Electronics started with a small key components for certain product in that industry such as microprocessor and memory chips. Once the company knows how the industry works, the company will involves and competing in that industry by investing huge capital expenditure.
Samsung which means ‘Three Star’ was founded in 1938 by Lee Kun Hee’s father, Lee Byung Chull.
In 1988 – 1993 under the leadership of Lee Kun Hee, the company prospered and growth two and half times and set to become international player like IBM, General Electric (GE), by the 2000. In 1993 Lee embarked on world tour to see and analyze the performance of the employees.
