History of SAMSUNG
Lee Byung-Chull founded Samsung in 1938 as a treading company in Korea. The company first started by selling dried food and noodles. “The company grew and soon expanded to Seoul in 1947 but left once the Korean War broke out. After the war, Lee expanded in to textiles and built the largest woolen mill in Korea.”

“Samsung entered the electronics industry in the 1960 's with the development of numerous electronics divisions. The initial electronics divisions included Samsung Electronics Devices, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung Corning, and Samsung Semiconductor & Telecommunications. Samsung built their initial facilities in Suwon, South Korea, where they started producing black and white television sets. Samsung expanded into even more fields in the 1970s, including petrochemicals. It also started making washing machines, refrigerators, and microwaves. Samsung also began production of black and white televisions for domestic sales.

Samsung began to focus even more on electronics in the 1980s. The company began producing color TVs, personal computers, VCRs, and tape recorders. This was also the decade Samsung started exporting more of its products to North America. Samsung also started the telecommunications hardware industry in 1980s with the purchase of Hanguk Jenja Tongsin. Moreover, Samsung also began producing air conditioners, microwave oven, PCs, and developed the world’s smallest, lightest 4mm video tape recorder. Samsung grew as an international corporation throughout the 1990 's. The construction division of Samsung secured several high profile construction projects, including one of the PETRONAS Towers in Malaysia, Taipei 101 in Taiwan and the half-mile tall Burj Khalifa Tower in the UAE. Samsung 's engineering division also includes Samsung Techwin, an aerospace manufacturer that manufacturers aircraft engines and gas turbines as well as supplying parts used in jet engines on

    I feel my number one area of improvement would be #1, my need for power and to be in control at all times. My husband is someone is quick to point out my need to control and run everything and that I don’t listen and downplay his ideas. Furthermore, I run an in home daycare so I don’t interact much with people to get their ideas. In this personality flaw of mine I can combine my strength of being a leader and continue applying it at all times but practice being more sensitive to other people’s views. I can learn convey a better interest in other people ideas, be flexible and open to negotiation. So I think my best time to try and implement my plans is in February when my husband returns from deployment.
