The Revolutionary Lightbulb Imagine the world without the lightbulb. The rays of energy produced by this bulb of wires and glass are necessities and have become staples in many people's lives. The lightbulb caused a rebellion against the habits of old and swept in an era of radiant beams. This small illuminating glass sphere is often forgotten because it can be easily accessed by a flick of a switch, but the lightbulb is an invention that has changed society into a world of magnificent rays. This revolutionary source of light has enabled society to become more productive and guards lives from calamities. While the lightbulb may appear to be an ancient invention, it still benefits society today by increasing production before sunrise and late into the shadowy depths of the evening. Many people work evening shifts that would be impossible without the lightbulb's radiant energy imitating the sun's glorious rays. For example, my family was driving home from New York after a two week vacation. We were traveling late into the night, and we were located deep in the heart of a forest as misleading as a maze! The moonless night cloaked all of the dangers of the road, so we had no time to swerve when a fallen limb blocked our path. Our minivan tumbled into the ditch located to the right of the bumpy road.
