How Does Stereotyping Cause Racism
There is no doubt that stereotyping is a major cause for racism. The media nowadays can put the wrong ideas in one’s head about different races. When a person of a young age is exposed to stereotypes or to groups who are stereotyped they will assume that all are like this. They usually show some races in a negative way. For example, in the U.S the media shows black men as rapists, kidnappers, serial killers, and much more. This has left an impact on the society, black men are being shot for their skin color and the shooter would use “self-defense” as a justification for his action. This also leads us to an unsafe society.
