Since February of 1964 the Beatles took over America with their first step on American soil. Their music is amazing and they brought a different style of pop/rock in America that we have never experienced. Another great group that also shook America was the Rolling Stones, just like the Beatles their music was trendsetting and impacted American culture. Both these groups came to America and changed the way Americans were listing to music.…

Also, the use of logos was shown throughout the song. Lennon specifically states his position about which side of society he is on. He believes that there should be no sides to society but one completely even society with no biases. He uses irony when saying a “working class hero is something to be” throughout the song because once you get to the end you realize that it is actually the opposite of what a person should be. This greatly shows his position on how society should be and the people in that society. He explains to the working class how “they hurt you at home and they hit you at school, they hate you if you’re clever and despise as a fool.” Lennon is trying to tell these lower class people that the chain needs to stop and at a young age. He explains how they will be “tortured and scared” for 20 years and the hierarchy “expects you to pick a career.” Lennon is trying to prove to the audience what has been going on in their…

When deciding a topic for my speech, the song ‘Dear Mr President’ gave me an idea on the subject matter of homelessness. There is use of rhetorical question in the song as Pink creates an sense that the person the song is written for is deceitful, therefore changing the audience’s perspective on the person(President Bush), “What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?, “Who do you pray for before you go to sleep”,”What do you feel when you look in the mirror?”, “Are you proud?”. This not only questions President but also involves other political leaders and government if they are standing up to certain issues. ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon was a song which influenced the activism of an ideal world or just to ‘imagine’ a world with no violence, where there would be only peace. This song brings up issues which corrupt society into a place that it shouldn’t be like. This brought up to me the idea of homelessness and how we as people sometimes lack our respect and care for others. Overall, both texts has influenced me to compose a speech dealing with homelessness in…
